Re: Cats sign center for '14
Bradley is from England, where he was invited to try out for the national team at age 16. He himself says he’s 7’0”.
Is ranked as the 35th prospect overall of the class of ’14 in Indiana according to this web site http://indianarecruitingguide.com/prosp ... s-of-2014/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;:
He rebounds the ball well on both ends of the court. Bradley has pretty good footwork in the post and an effective baby hook he likes to go to. However, he is pretty slow which hurts him on the defensive end especially. Still, at 6’10,” he should get quite a bit of low-major interest.

Re: Cats sign center for '14
The commitment of Bradley Fisher did not come as a complete surprise, I have been hearing rumblings of this for about a month now. As a matter of fact I believe that new Bobcat assistant Chris Haslam brought Fisher to the attention of Huse when he came on board. While Haslam was officially hired Aug 1st, he was offered the job in early July and started to unofficially work with the coaching staff thereafter. Fisher like Haslam is originally from England (Chorely, England to be exact) and has been playing ball for Culver Military School for the past couple of years. I have seen him listed at between 6-10 and 7-0 and weighing between 210 to 270lbs. I am told he is about 6-11 & 230lbs but has really just stopped growing and just starting to fill out. Twelve months from now when he is officially listed on our roster I would expect him to be listed at 7’-0” (especially with Huse’s measuring stick) and 230-240 lbs.
Fisher’s stats for last year read 12 points 10 rebounds 52% field goals 73% free throws for a team that went 2-19 last year. Culver win loss record last year did give me a moment’s pause when I looked at it but it was a very young team that graduated 6 players that went on to play D-1 or JC ball the year before. They also play in a very competitive league that primarily features “private schools and academies” so It will be interesting to see how Culver does this year with most of their team back.
Here are some comments I found floating around the web.
From Indianarecruitingguide.com who rate him as the 3rd best center out of Indiana 2014 class, and 35th overall best prospect in the state.
Here is a youtube video of him.

.... Bradley Fisher, a 6’10” Center from Culver Military (2014) really impressed me. He isn’t very agile, but does have nice footwork in the post and an effective baby hook that he likes to use. Fisher is very strong and can rebound the ball well.
From wildcatbluenation.com35. Bradley Fisher: 6’10” Center, Culver Military Academy
He obviously has great size, and he is also a strong kid. He rebounds the ball well on both ends of the court. Bradley has pretty good footwork in the post and an effective baby hook he likes to go too. However, he is pretty slow which hurts him on the defensive end especially. Still, at 6’10,” he should get quite a bit of low-major interest.
My overall take on Fisher is that while a little bit of a project with someone like Haslam on board one that is well worth the investment. The biggest knock that I heard the most about him was his foot speed but compare to former Bobcat Cody Anderson he is a gazelle. He has solid footwork and decent lateral movement which are the key attributes for big men. He is strong and aggressive underneath which is also a plus. I think it may take a year or two working with Haslam (but who knows he may surprise me) but I think all of you Bobcat fans who have been clamoring for Huse to sign a true big man, this is exactly the type of prospect you could have hoped for.C Unranked Brad Fisher 6-11/270
Thoughts Perhaps my favorite player in the camp. The big fella reigns from Culver Military Academy and was a power down low. His size and strength makes you take notice as soon as you set eyes on him. If he manages to find any game at all when he has to put the ball on the court, he will be a force for anyone to guard. At this point though, he is just a rebound and put back machine.
Here is a youtube video of him.

But can he shoot the 3-ball? To play for MSU you must be able to launch 3s no matter how tall you are.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

He does not seem to take many (if any) three point shots, but then again he is a European guy.TomCat88 wrote:But can he shoot the 3-ball? To play for MSU you must be able to launch 3s no matter how tall you are.

I could care less if he is 7 foot and shoots 3 pointers as long as he makes over 40% of themTomCat88 wrote:But can he shoot the 3-ball? To play for MSU you must be able to launch 3s no matter how tall you are.

I used to know a guy that was pretty tall and could shoot the 3 ball

Re: Cats sign center for '14
While tend to whole heartily agree with you Tom the one caveat I will add is, as long as the head coach understands what/who he is signing and puts that player in a position to best help the team and excel. Starner was very good at not getting caught up with where on paper he should play a player, thus he would play two 5-9 PG's at the same time or allow his 6-9 forward to roam the perimeter.Domako wrote:I could care less if he is 7 foot and shoots 3 pointers as long as he makes over 40% of themTomCat88 wrote:But can he shoot the 3-ball? I spoke with Jeff Moore, the director at the Indiana Dawgz AAU club. He said they've tried to help the 7=-foot (he said 7 foot multiple times) Fisher develop an outside shot, or maybe he meant mid-range jumper. Have to re-listen to tape. Trying to get hold of Bradley, who, according to Moore, is not at Culver Academy this season. Right now, he's still in England.

So if he is not playing ball at Culver what the heck maybe he should transfer to Bozeman high and get acclimated to MontanaGidal Kaiser wrote:I spoke with Jeff Moore, the director at the Indiana Dawgz AAU club. Hope this works out. We've had horrible luck with Bigs over the past decade. I can't remember the last true 6'11" or 7'0" bigman (as in not a beanpole like our beloved Senegal Slim) MSU had that actually fit and made an impact down low... Big John Lazoski?
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Chatted with Bradley Fisher Wednesday; story for Saturday. Basically, before he moved to the US, he spent one year at high school in England, and the NCAA decided to count that as a year of HS eligibility. So he's back in England, working out by himself with an old club coach supervising.

Does that mean his is out of years at the high school level? Could he enroll at MSU in the Spring?

Re: Cats sign center for '14
The way he explained it to me was that he could not. He has to wait until the 2013-2014 school year is over to be classified as a Class of 2014 graduate. I will try and find out more information next week.
