I have seen most games of both men and women and at this point in the season it seems to me things have dramatically improved.
I like the effort and chemistry for both teams. There is good depth on both squads as well.
The guys did not pull it out today but it is really, really tough to win on the road.
All I'm saying is, if you're a Cat fan and you can make these games, come on out. You will enjoy it. I sure have. The game the men won
over NAU was an absolute blast and then today's comeback by the women was super as well.
Go Cats

Re: Have you been out to see Cats Hoops yet?
I've sat court side at more than 40 games each for the men and the women over the last three seasons. I have no horse in this race, but I will tell you that both teams are dramatically improved and much easier to watch. My first year in Bozeman, the women had Katie Bussey, who was worth the price of admission, but last year they were hard to watch. They are back to running a dribble-drive offense and pushing the tempo. All their players can shoot, especially their forwards who can step out to 15-17 feet and knock them down. Jasmine Hommes, Jackie Elliott and Ashley Brumwell are particularly fun to watch.
The men are not just a JC all-star team anymore. They have bought in to the team concept and are sharing the ball. They've gotten the "jack until you go D-I" syndrome out of them and are now playing as a deep, athletic, tenacious team.
I agree with this thread. Both teams are much more fun to watch. Not sure if they will be dramatically better in the standings, but at least you won't go crazy watching them play a bad brand like last season.

I'll second these opinions. Both teams have been a lot of fun to watch so far this season. For the women, the return to their old offense has made for an exciting and quick flowing game. Their passing ability and ball movement has been amazing, and they have been very balanced. I hope that their depth, having only 9 players suited up, won't become an issue as the season wears on.
The men's team has been fun, too. They pass around and take much better shots than we've seen in the last few years here. I'd like to see more of Stephan Holm going forward-that kid can flat out shoot. It might be a fun season this year. Well, hope springs eternal as they say.

I've been to several mens games so far this year and have been pleasantly surprised. as many of us have said in years past, if we can just get away from the stagnant offense that leads to 50 threes a game these huse coached teams may have a chance. I have been very impressed with the tempo of the offense this year and the defense has played pretty good as well.
all that said...as with almost every bobcat basketball fan...i'll patiently wait about a month before I get too excited about this teams chances.
enjoying the ride so far however.
