What is tonight going to be with UNCU. I'm thinking if they make a contest out of it, they will do pretty good till the swoon. :-k

I'm hoping for a solid performance. Their solid play so far in conference and watching the live stream of the EWU game piqued my interest enough that I decided I have to head up there and see how they do against what appears to be the class of the conference.

I haven't seen UNC play but they appear to be pretty solid. The Cats are capable of beating anyone with their depth, but we shall see.

Neither team shot well in the first half, but both played with tremendous energy. You can tell both know this is a big game. Paul Egwuonwu is hitting his mid-range jumper. Not sure that's a good thing in the greater scheme because MSU doesn't want him to fall in love with that, but he's got 7 points to lead the way. Tim Huskisson has slashed his way to 8 points and four rebounds to lead UNC. Cats shot just 34 percent, but hit 3-9 3s for a 25-23 lead. UNC is 1-7 from 3. MSU has done a great job in Tate Unruh, probably the league's best shooter. He's got 7, but hasn't gotten a look beyond the arc in about 10 minutes. Should be a good second half.

Individual scoring: 13, 12, 9, 8, 7, 7, 6, 5, 3. That's some good balance. Only five turnovers.

Wow that was great! And a pretty good crowd to witness it too. The first half was a dog fight with MSU leading by 2. Huse pulled Egwuonwu and Davis with just 2 minutes gone in the second half and inserted Robison and Norman-and man did those guys do a great job. Robison had 2 or three buckets in a row including a three-point play. If Egwuonwu played with half as much toughness as Robison he'd be All-American. Egwuonwu is skilled, athletic, and big. He's just too soft! Somebody needs to poke him with a sharp stick or something. That being said-he's a presence-especially on the defensive boards-and he has improved from last season. If only he went strong to basket on offense and finished better.

The play of the game-in my opinion was when Biglow missed a free throw, but Coleman got the rebound and got it out to Dison. Dison absolutely blew by Unruh and scored the layup and was fouled-creating a three point play. After that UNCU seemed to lose all interest, folded their tent, and started packing for Missoula.

This team has the talent. They fall in love with the three pointer a bit too much sometimes, but they have skill, size (for the Big Sky), and depth. There's no reason why they can't be threat in this league. If only they could win in February and March.
