Cat-Griz game thread

Wow...no one has even started a game thread yet? I guess the interest level in MSU hoops really is at an all time low. Cats are up 20-12 with about 4:30 remaining in the first half. That's right...UM has managed only 12 points in the first 15-1/2 minutes. Anyone have a score from the women's game?

Well, it didn't take long for MSU to blow that lead. 20-20 now, with 2-1/2 to go in the half.

Not sure I've ever seen a worse "travel" call in my entire basketball watching career?

Slugfest at the Brick between the women's teams. Refs are letting them play. Neither team shooting well.
Montana shot 32 percent in the first half. Anaconda product Torry Hill hit a 3 for UM's first FG, but UM missed next eight 3-point attempts. Stevensville product Alycia Sims has 5 points off the bench to pace Lady Griz. Bozeman product Kellie Cole has five points and two assists.
Montana State shot 33 percent in the first half, including 2-9 from downtown. Margreet Barhoum is 2-3 from deep. Jasmine Hommes had 11 points, but on 13 shots. MSU is leading the rebounding battle 27-18. That's a really good sign as they've struggled mightily all season. Billings Central product Jackie Elliott has six boards, including an offensive rebound with 2.9 seconds left in the half. She was fouled and her free throws gave MSU its 29-28 lead.

UM ends the half on a 14-3 run, to go into the locker room up 26-23. After holding them to 12 in the first 15-1/2 minutes, they scored 14 in the final 4-1/2 minutes.

Griz start 2nd half on 10-5 run, to go up 36-28 with 15 minutes left...outscored MSU 24-8 during the last 10 minutes sandwiching halftime.

Well that'll do it folks. Nobody making any plays on either end, somebody just slashes and has nowhere to go with it, passing around the perimeter with nobody getting open. Classic February Bobcat basketball. The weave will make an appearance soon to seal the deal.

The Griz did a great job of shutting down our only decent scoring threat, Holm. They smartly just let Big Paul and Davis score their hard-earned 2s while shutting down everyone else.

Griz up 40-28 with about 12 minutes to go....outscored us 28-8 since we led 20-12 with 5 minutes to go in the 1st half.

So freakin predictable - I really try not to get my hopes up, but the blue and gold running through me won't let me give up. Oy
