Good luck to the Bobcat women this afternoon. They played UM very tough both times in the regular season, and played very well last weekend too, so I'm cautiously optimistic that they might be able to pull off the upset. I'm counting on them to prevent MSU going "oh fer" against UM in football and basketball in 2013-14. A win tonight would help to take some of the sting away from yet another disappointing season by the MBB team.

Lady Griz by 22 36-14 at the half. 8:42 minutes without scoring.....can't make a layup need to open their eyes when they shoot! Rebounds 27-14 Really discouraging........

So in other words, our last hope for salvaging a small shred of respectability from this basketball season is pretty much down the tubes!!

Even taking away the 8:42 drought, that's still only 14 points in the other 11:18, which isn't exactly scorching the nets. It would have almost been better if they hadn't even made the tourney...how disappointing!!

Griz lead down to 8....after a three by Durham. Hommes has 4 fouls. De Witt is playing a good game at he post. We need scoring from someone else. Elliot hit a three at the beginning of the half and a couple of FT's...hasn't shot again yet.

Griz by 6 with 7 minutes to go...DeWitt is a rock underneath....Elliot is playing great defense. Just don't wake up!

Cats definitely playing the better basketball in this half. The key is whether we dug too deep a hole.

Back to 9....Griz coming back to life...getting serious again.....Cats have to bring it up a notch/ Too many fouls...letting the Griz get even at FT line...Cats in foul trouble. Cats have 8 threes in 2nd half, Durham 5 Griz win 75-66. Need to play 2 halves!

Cats scored 52 points in the second half....we need to play with that kind of urgency all the time!

I don't know...maybe the coaches need to get out of their players heads and just let them go play.

There's a fitting end to MSU's basketball season. How in the world does a team score 14 points in the first half and then 52 in the second? Only MSU basketball seeks to provide answers to questions like these...better luck next year. I won't be there to watch.

Wait til next year? Next decade? Next century?

Sure, no problem.

I received a pamphlet asking me to join the Bobcat Club the other day. Until Montana State takes
basketball seriously I'm not sending in a dime.

I'm not dissing UM; in fact, I congratulate their commitment to continuing their complete and total domination
of MSU in just about every sport, but especially in basketball.

Why in the world WOULD a Montana kid want to play hoops at MSU when you know the Griz will own them?

The very fact that Peter Fields did not fire Brad Huse immediately after the last game of the season shows
you right there that MSU simply does not care about hoops. So, MSU, don't act surprised next year when attendance
falls even more. As someone said today, there were more fans in Worthington Arena today to watch a couple of high
school teams than there were at any MSU game all year.

As for Trish Binford, if she is the best coach we can find, then I would cut her pay. If she wants to leave, fine let someone else enjoy the mediocre teams she produces that the Griz enjoys eating alive year after year.

Spring football can't start soon enough!

I just looked on the MSU website for information on the 6th man club, the booster club specifically supporting men's basketball. The link on the page goes to a membership form one can fill out...for the 2009-2010 season. That about sums things up right there.

I read in this morning's Missoulian that the Lady Griz were late getting to Fargo and weren't able to practice prior to their game yesterday against the Cats. Apparently, their flight to Denver was delayed, and when they got there the connecting flight to Fargo was full. The reason: the airline gave their seats to the Cats who were going to Fargo as well. :)
