Men start at noon and the women at 1PM MST. I'm looking for our three point specialists to get going-Patterson, Gazelas and Martell...let it be so!

Really a great opportunity for the men to go 4-0. I like watching both these teams, but the men's team just might be something special right now. I wouldn't want to coach against them anyway. The bench depth, unselfishness, and the ability for so many different players to catch a hot-hand makes us very dangerous for our opponents. Ten down midway through the 2nd is still toss up with these guys.

Your description of the men’s team sounds just like the women’s team — bench depth, unselfishness, and a boat load of shooters. In the first Portland game Coach Bin used a two-deep at every position. Each pair of players played 40 minutes between them. All 10 of those players can knock down a three! The younger players haven’t all had their breakout games yet, but they are coming. Beattie and Ranson were big-time scorers in high school. It takes everyone awhile to adjust, but they will find their games.
It’s been a long, long time since I’ve been this excited about the men’s team. Let the games begin. I bugged Costello and the Big Sky office about keeping the game times from overlapping, since all fans are relegated to PlutoTV this year. At least I was hoping for two-hour separation like on Thursday night, but to no avail. I was told the Saturday game times were set to allow the teams to travel home the same day. The games are available on-demand a couple days later at watchbigsky.com — but I still wish they’d quit overlapping them.

Really out of sync today and I am not talking about the audio. My take so far.
But still VERY early.

Down 37-31 at the half...

Trail 37-31 at the half. Easy to diagnose. PSU is getting 2 or 3 shots in every possession with offensive rebounds. Turnovers are a factor too. 2 fouls each had Belo, Adamu, and Bishop on the bench at the same time and that didn't go well. PSU on a big run at the end of the half.

The griz dropped one to NAU. A 15 point lead at the half and boom. 14 TO surely couldn't help. Seventh loss of the season.

Gotta give credit to PSU - they have out hustled us.

Is it me or are the officials calling ticky-tacky fouls?

Getting destroyed on the boards. Shooting is fair. To me still playing a bit disjointed but able to keep a tight lead.

Women down 1 at the half. Kenzie Stumne is playing quite a bit. Leia Beatty hasn't played I don't think. Relying on our depth. Mocchi was again outstanding the in the 1st quarter.

4-0 for the men. Good job manufacturing points from the free throw line-especially by Bishop. PSU makes it ugly and our guys were up for it!

We are learning how to win and that builds on itself. Glad PSU is done. I kept yelling at Borja when he’d throw it away on the inbounds.

Women are going to lose. Portland State is playing extremely well. We couldn't get shots to fall again, but in the last minute it was turnovers. Really tough loss-we should have had this one.

Yep, tough loss. As the announcer said, the vikings swept Idaho State this weekend???

I haven't seen a box score yet for the women but Kenzie Stumne who hasn't played all year got a lot of minutes and I thought did pretty well, including getting a basket. Leia Beattie and Ava Ranson didn't play or played very little. Madison Jackson and Skye Lindsay are still out.

The stat sheet was a toss-up. PSU took it at the FT line.. I seriously thought the boards were to their side but we actually had more. And fast break points were a strength for the Vikings.
