Cats and EWU

Post by Catfanatic84 » Thu Feb 17, 2022 9:18 am

Tough road game for the fellas tonight. Eastern's 6-3 at home with wins over Weber and Idaho State Keeping my fingers crossed for win #21.

MSU women have Eastern in the Brick tonight. Eastern women are 1-8 on the road, so I would expect MSU to take care of business. But, the Eagles are fresh off an upset of UM in Cheney Monday night, so it could be more competitive than the EWU record would indicate.

Go Cats!!

I'm becoming addicted to the ESPN+ access these days. The last few nights have a been rough without any Bobcat and/or BSC games to watch.

Both the men's and women's teams will be playing tonight in first place, as the ISU women were upset this afternoon by UNCU in Greeley with former Bobcat Sydney Stensgard playing a major role in the comeback.

We tend to watch whichever game starts first live, and save the second game for the next night. I just avoid reading the BN thread, hope MBB and WBB have separate threads, and there are no spoiler titles. So most weeks we get four evenings of basketball. On the makeup weeks we just about had a game to watch every night.

The watchbigsky.com site archived them, but it took 2-3 days for a game to show up, and sometimes, like the ‘Cat/gris Women’s game a couple years ago, only like 12 minutes of the game showed up. I like not having to start the game on my phone and cast it to the TV — really nice to just start up the ESPN app on the TV and bingo!

HINT: If you have not set “favorites” on ESPN, consider doing so. You can set favorite teams by logging into espn.com with your ESPN+ credential, or utilizing some of the mobile apps. Once set, your favorite teams will tend to pop to the top of the ESPN+ listings shortly before and during a live game.

Has there ever been a time this far into the season when both basketball teams are sitting in first place? That is really something. Add the FCS championship game and 2 track athletes with some of the top marks in the NCAA. It is something rare for fans to enjoy.

Hope there is a big crowd tonight at the Brick. Only 2 more chances to watch the women if you're not going to Boise.

Rats. I mean I’m happy for Sydney, but I chose her as my “hidden gem” of that big freshman recruiting class. And then she up and left.

I’d have watched if I’d realized it was on. Never checked the schedule for games on Thursday afternoon — strange. I wonder if it was the “invite the grade schoolers” game or something.

I’ll be there. Cheney is a tough place to play.

Yet another tough start. We can't make anything, they can't miss and we look flat. Hoping for a turnaround soon.

Finished better but down 3 at halftime. That may have been the weakest technical foul I've ever seen called. Never seen that before

My first game of the year in person and if we keep this up I’m taking it as I’m bad luck and I’m heading to the parking lot. Just don’t look in sync on either side. Feels worse than a 2 point game

Entertaining first half. I think this is gonna be one of those games that comes down to the final possession.

Can someone please explain to me how other teams can constantly throw their bodies into our guys and get away with it but our guys barely touch them and its a foul? Every damn game...

Even Eastern's announcers are talking about the calls going against us.

Tough one, the late game magic finally ran out tonight. Bad day for road favorites as UNCU and the Griz also lost to ISU and Idaho respectively.
