Darius Brown II Commits

Yupp. That would be I would guess our starting PG. looking to find video, but scrolling through his Twitter he has a 3.5 Assist to turnover rate, which looks like was 2nd in all of D1. High rebound numbers for a guard, good shooting percentages. Looks like a great get! Welcome
A tweet from someone who appears to be his father indicates he has two years and is coming to MSU to get his Master's Degree. Another couple tweets say he is a grad transfer, which makes sense.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 29, 2022 5:09 pmWas injured and only played 7 games. Not sure if he gets that year back or not. Either 1 or 2 years to play. Doesn’t appear to have redshirted. Second team all Big West. A good, but not great shooter. Very adequate for a point. MSU needs a mid 40s 3-ball player with a quick release.
let's wait and see. X was the best point guard we've had in a long time.Cataholic wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 9:53 pmThis guy is legit. And he still has two years of eligibility as a grad student. I am predicting no drop off replacing Bishop.

Wasn't Harald Frey a point guard? And right before Frey, we had Marcus Colbert. I'd say point guard has been our most consistently well recruited position for the past decade. Here's to hoping Darius Brown fills those shoes well!luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 10:43 amlet's wait and see. If I had to rank I would go with 1)Frey 2)Bishop 3) Colbertblueandgoldblitz wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 11:00 amWasn't Harald Frey a point guard? And right before Frey, we had Marcus Colbert. I guess I considered Frey more of a shooting guard than a point guard. I know he played point but X imo has superior ball handling skills, Frey was a better shooter than X. Although they're both very good at both skills.imacat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 12:17 pmIf I had to rank I would go with 1)Frey 2)Bishop 3) Colbertblueandgoldblitz wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 11:00 amWasn't Harald Frey a point guard? Harald Frey and Marcus Colbert are the #2 and #3 all time assist leaders in MSU history, respectively. 514 for Frey 453 for Colbert. Of course Frey played the most games in MSU history and Colbert the 5th most, so if Bishop played as much who knows.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 1:02 pmI guess I considered Frey more of a shooting guard than a point guard. I hope we can say Darius is as good as X and Harry, or surprise us and be even better.
Brown has 430 career assists in the Big West over about 3 seasons of play (average of 143 per season). I am not sure if he will have a top ten season, but he also has Belo and Great to feed all day. He is a great addition at point.CelticCat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 2:07 pmHarald Frey and Marcus Colbert are the #2 and #3 all time assist leaders in MSU history, respectively. 514 for Frey 453 for Colbert. Both Frey and Colbert have a top 10 assists in one season under their belts, Bishop just missed the top 10 this year and he had plenty of extra games.
#4. Harard Frey 2018-19 - 159
#6. Marcus Colbert 2015-2016 - 158
