Looking forward to the team bouncing back. Crisp shots, confidence and moving the ball.
Lets go Cats and show your stuff

Marah Dykstra is starting tonight instead of Janssen. Can't say I disagree based on Tuesday's game!

Well, MSU has carried over their shooting "prowess" from Tuesday and can't get a single rebound on defense. Somehow it's only 5-4.

They moved Dykstra to the starting lineup….. she hunts rebounds!

Hard to believe this team went on the road and beat BYU a week ago. Who's going to step up and put the damn ball in the hoop? Love Kola but she needs to stop picking up stupid fouls. That's two games in a row, dumb second foul in the first quarter on a reach in. She needs to be on the court, not the bench.

Looked like an Arizona State hang over in that first half. I think we shot 22% or something like that. It was a miracle we were only down 2 at halftime. The 3rd quarter started the same way, but then all of a sudden some shots started to fall and we overtook and ran away from them from there. Binford was doing line changes like a hockey coach. I think our depth wore UND out. UND was overly scrappy and slappy and made it very ugly. Every MSU defensive rebound was an excuse to clobber somebody. Bad Bear took over in the 2nd half and managed to not foul out. As mentioned above, she just has to keep from getting those silly reaching fouls. She's too important to be sitting on the bench. All in all a good win, but we have to and will play a lot better.

Scored 50 points in the second half. Just a glimpse of what this team can do. I’ve been saying don’t sleep on Marah. Her size (6-2) on the perimeter is a nightmare matchup, and she’s a natural rebounder if I’ve ever seen one. She lead the team tonight with 8 boards. Shot 1 of 2, beautiful mid-range jumper. Checked every box in box score. D-boards, o-boards, assists, steals, and a block. Played very much within herself. More to come. Taylor seemed more relaxed off the bench.

I don’t think anyone who posts on this board is overlooking Dykstra. It was great to see her get the start in the 4th game of the year! Like you say, she plays within herself and I’ll add that she has that special knack of making her teammates look good. Candidate for the team leader in the plus minus stat over time and I can’t wait until she gets the confidence, and more importantly, the green light from Coach to shoot more.

I agree that Dykstra has game, but I still believe that Janssen has a stronger game. I was hoping she would figure it out by now, but I truly feel that if she would quit thinking and start playing, she would dominate in every game. Basketball is a game of instincts……. She’s so robotic it’s hard to really see her talent. It’s going to happen this season, and I hope she’s pissed off about her benching and takes it personally instead of sulking and finding comfort in less minutes. Her jumper is like butter, but you have to have the confidence to take the shot!

Who employs the commentator? Seriously, she spends more time reading from the opponent’s press guide — or is it Wikipedia?— than she does calling the game. Sometimes four trips up and down the floor will pass before a single comment is made on the action.

@Bobcat4Ever pointed out in another post about Marty M’s commentary that it’s maybe a job we couldn’t do, but there has to be someone who could call the game and leave the other material for long breaks in the action. Basketball is fast-moving and requires more attention and prep than other sports. Our gal needs some help.

It’s not an easy job! Let’s give her a chance to develop and then give her an end of season grade. She’ll be fine by conference play. Everyone has to start somewhere!

Men playing today in Grand Forks leading 37-27 at the half. Bobcats looked better as the half continued. I think the Bobcats will expand the lead in the second half as the Hawks are showing why they finished with only 2 Summit conference wins last year.
