Men win a wild one 86 - 83. Battle really shines.
I don't understand playing there 2 years in a row. Seems like a team we could get a home and home withBelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 10:59 pmI'm guessing, based on the home cooking served up, that we won't be scheduling any more games in Cedar City any time soon.
I just watched the replay of the Belo play, quite impressed that he was somehow able to commit a Flagrant 2 while having his back to the defender. Keaton was absolutely losing his mind about the refs on the radio broadcast but nice job by Sprinkle & staff to stay calm, deal with the situation, and get the win anyway.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 10:59 pmI'm guessing, based on the home cooking served up, that we won't be scheduling any more games in Cedar City any time soon.
Is there a clip of the Belo foul someplace? I assume game is on ESPN + so about when did it happen?MSU01 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 8:23 amI just watched the replay of the Belo play, quite impressed that he was somehow able to commit a Flagrant 2 while having his back to the defender. I found it on the ESPN+ broadcast, it happens shortly after the under 8 media TO in the first half with MSU ahead 23-20.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 9:29 amIs there a clip of the Belo foul someplace? I'm not sure if it's the same ref, but late in the game, Sprinkle was talking to the refs about something. I don't know what, but he was being calm and respectful. From what I could see he wasn't even arguing. The one ref that looked like he spends his life in the weight room just stared him down like he wanted to fight him. I'm not saying he did want to fight him, but his body language looked to me like the type of ref who wants all the smoke. There's an old high school ref out of Missoula--football and basketball guy--who knows what he's doing, but he is a hothead and makes bizarre calls when he seems to take things personally. He'd make a call and stare a player or coach down, almost hoping they'd say something. 99% of the time, guys like this can be really good, then they want to be a hard@ss and prove a point, and it's way over the top. Seems like that's what happened here to this causal observer.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 8:55 amThe ref that gave belo a flagrant 2 on that play should lose his job. He is either being paid under the table to throw the game, or he is mentally retarded.
Either way he should not be a ref.
What a joke.
I was wondering if the refs for this game came out of the normal pool for Big Sky games or since SUU is no longer in the Big Sky they got the refs from a different pool-like maybe the associate athletic director at SUU, a local high school principal, and a parent of one of the players. Kinda seemed like that.kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 12:14 pmI'm not sure if it's the same ref, but late in the game, Sprinkle was talking to the refs about something. Normal pool I think, I checked some box scores on the ESPN app and found all three of them doing Big Sky home games earlier this season. Maybe these guys are all late 90s Weber State grads still pissed off about Sprinkle scoring 30 in the Big Sky title game in '96.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 12:24 pmI was wondering if the refs for this game came out of the normal pool for Big Sky games or since SUU is no longer in the Big Sky they got the refs from a different pool-like maybe the associate athletic director at SUU, a local high school principal, and a parent of one of the players.
