Hasn't Ogden been a tough place for the Cat's to win??

It has, but MSU beat them by around 30 down there last year in the game that really cemented MSU as league favorites. I expect Weber to play well tonight though after they got embarrassed on Monday against UNC.

Cats only playing 8 tonight. Interesting

Cats only have 8 points almost halfway through the half. Weber slowly taking control. Who can hit a few shots?

We're suddenly in big trouble. Can't score this half and the defense is weak too. Bad combination

Weber clearly wants this game a lot more than MSU does.

Piss poor effort this half. It's sad to watch

This game was almost predictable. Weber coming off a big loss. Cats riding 9-10 win streak. Fairly obvious who wanted the game more. Dillon Jones is his name.

If we had any delusions of winning the regular season, they died here. Hope we can hold on for the 2 seed. The top 2 get an extra days rest after the quarter final I believe. It's disappointing that this team isn't as good as last year, but they're just not. We can still get it in the tournament though.

Cats actually had 4 conference losses with 6 games to go last year.

The horrible outside shooting and long scoring droughts are giving me pause. This team bricks way too many wide open looks. With our inside guys even mediocre outside shooting would make this team pretty unbeatable in this league.

I can't help but wonder if the shooting is a symptom and not the actual problem. I only say that because this team looks good for one half and then complete dogsh|t in the second half of a lot of games. So, it seems to be an established pattern. What's going on at half time? "If it ain't broke, let's fix it until it is!" :-k

The stats don't look like a team that collapsed. We lose by 10, but WSU only has one more fg than we do and 8 more FT points. Three pointers are the same, and our FG % is higher than 50%.

Other than last night and maybe the game in Sacramento two weekends ago I don't think I'd agree that MSU routinely plays worse in the second half of games. They've had quite a few games that were close at the half and still ended up winning.

MSU has a better scoring margin (+7.2) in conference games this year than last year's team (+6.5) had - their PPG is down from last year but so is their PPG allowed. So I don't think this year's team is worse than last year's, it's just that 2023 EWU is significantly better than any of MSU's 2022 opponents.

Weber went to the foul line 8 more times and made 8 more free throws than we did, that's pretty much the difference. We only shot 6-10, Weber 14-18.

100% agree here. 11 turn overs by the bigs and we kept riding that pony. Asking JB and GO to handle the ball and make passes they aren’t used to making showed last night.

Only playing 8 after having bench players, 1 in particular, that started the seasons first 7-8 games is troubling. Of course we’re only left guessing and postulating possible’s. The on again off again nature of some of the starters certainly is head scratching.

Joe Cravens, ex Weber coach. He’s their answer to Tech’s Bob Greene. He was a real character while he was the coach, as well.

You're correct about the word routinely. It's hard to find the right word when we don't have a ton of losses, but the ones we do seem to have similarities. Except for the Idaho loss, that one was start to finish hot garbage.

Maybe it's a scheme thing, where the coaches are trying to anticipate the other teams' adjustments when just continuing with what built the lead to begin with would be good enough close the deal.
