The Library? Let's face it-outside of Cat-griz basketball student crowds are not too lit. Even with how good both our teams have been.

The House of Vim is easily the best.

Back in the Huse and Fish days it was easy to write off the lack of student attendance as being due to a lack of consistent wins on the court, but student attendance didn't really seem to improve much under Sprinkle either. I'm not sure what the solution is or even if there is one, they've certainly tried a lot of promotional ideas but basketball games will never be the day-long event that football gamedays have become.

Under Danny, the Bobcats were very successful but not necessarily exciting to watch. Logie's style appears to be more in line with the Warriors and the NBA. That may resonate more with today's students.

While I 100% agree with this take I think it’s hard to argue the real reason why many students (in state and out of state) choose to go to Bozeman. The BigSky conference has great competition to watch and support of but I think it’s the other Big Sky that brings many students to MSU.
(This comes from someone who didn’t go to MSU so I might be completely wrong in that assumption. It’s just what I’ve seen going to games the last few years and I think it definitely plays a part in fan attendance)

That’s what we called it in the early 1990s before that one great season.
A friend of mine was almost kicked out of a Saturday noon game for standing up and cheering. We used to play pick-up ball with the guys over the summer and they basically begged us to get Sigma Chi to start a decent student section. Let’s just say it never took.

Find out how they do it Grand Canyon U in Arizona. Their students are bananas. Its Cameron Indoor West. Their men's team made the NCAA's and were in Denver where I was. Somehow they had 500 students there all concentrated in one area, going crazy. The school or somebody made the decision to give all the seats to students. I've been going to the NCAA's since 1996 and have never seen anything like it.

Older article now but you’ll get the idea.

Basically they catered to students and made it an event and an all day one at that. Easier to do that in February in Phoenix than it is in Bozeman.

Students section has been more like the Sleepy Kitten as of late. They spend more time looking at their cell phones than watching the game much less being loud.

The afternoon games on Saturdays definitely don't help. Students would rather be skiing those days, which is honestly one of MSU's biggest draws for students. Football is an all day affair where you get drunk and pregame, but basketball just isn't that. Basketball as a whole in MT isn't as big of a draw except for the smaller towns for HS ball
