Women win on road vs UND

Post by 84CatGrad » Sun Nov 19, 2023 3:56 pm

Great win today. Big first half lead then a bad third quarter gave it all back. Toughened up in the 4th and pulled it out. Lexi Deden was a warrior today. Clearly our team leader. Natalie Picton did a nice job at the point. My favorite part of her game is she drew two offensive fouls in the paint. There was even a Lindsey Hein siting! Good work, ladies.

Final score: Montana State 60 - North Dakota 53

Everything was clicking in the first half (32 Bobcats - 18 North Dakota). 3rd Q, we fell asleep. I agree w/ 84CatGrad, fought through in the 4th Q to get the W!

Deden lead the charge. Limardo never gave up. Dykstra’s passing ability & vision are exceptional for her position & her defensive presence in the key forced opponents to take difficult shots. Hall’s been a calming presence in the backcourt to help Picton really get into her role. Janssen’s solid off the bench.

Bench points - Bobcats 7 (all from Janssen) to North Dakota’s 24. I’ve gotten used to Bin’s 5 in 5 out line changes so this year has been different. Has a core 7 this year (8 w/ Berry). Hopefully, more of the team can get involved and contribute. Excited to see how this team comes together. I’m sure they’ll have some good team bonding on the beaches of Mexico before their next games in Cancun.

Watched the game on North Dakota’s channel (Midcosports).

No. It was on Midco sports (some sort of regional sports streaming thing) which requires a paid subscription. I paid $9.99 for a month just to watch the game, then canceled after the game. What I won't do to watch my Bobcats.......

So nice to see Hein return to the floor. I hope she gets going. Brooke and Drea have yet to show their potential- it they get going and into the rotation the height on the team will be solid. Yes - the subbing rotation is tight right now - now what it has looked like the last couple of years. The double DD combo Dedin and Dykstra is fun to watch.

Haha I agree. Turned out to be a close game. Good stream. No lagging and clear HD cameras. There’s only been 2 home games on ESPN+ so far this season but I THINK we got an upgrade on the cameras at The Brick because the stream quality seems clearer than last year.

This is very good news. Yes, I would LOVE to see Lindey and Brooke get going.

Picton is the quickest gaurd I have seen this year at any level.
Great defensive player, causes havoc
imo,
That kind of player is underrated.

What a pleasant surprise she has been. Yes, she's super quick and also showing signs of being a legitimate 3 point shooting threat. Prior to the season starting, I don't think any of us saw this coming. It looks like Philip has her work cut out for her to regain that starting slot once she becomes healthy.
