Hi all: Just an FYI before you rip into tonight's broadcast...
1) I am fighting a major cold (this will be my flu game!!) So have been very under the weather the last day or so...
2) We will have a new Color Guy tonight making his 1st ever broadcast for Basketball. He is a young college student that wants to get into the business, and works for PBS. Please keep that in mind when listening tonight. I am super exited about helping young announcers get their legs under them, but it's Tuff starting that at the college level.
We will have Kyler Ash back on color for Saturdays game, he is just gone tonight because his brother is playing a big home game tonight as well (cross-town here in Bozeman).
Again, not asking excuses, I will be fine and eaten enough chicken noodle soup and Dayquil to last me till 2025.. But just wanted to give you all a heads up. You all are amazing.

Wait, isn't Carter Ash on the team?? Why is he doing color commentary? What did I miss?
Rest up and feel better!

Get better and thanks for getting this games thread started!!
ESPN says we have a 80 percent chance of winning so I sure hope we can get it done! Our team stats look similar with them having more blocked shots and we have more steals. Also, they don't seem to score much, like 66 a game to our 74.

Really enjoying seeing the team improve. So far tonight Tyler Patterson seems to be everywhere!

I really like that Patterson is developing his mid-range game. Walker is getting up and down the floor better as well. As always, I am so grateful for Rober Ford's tenacity on d. LOVED that takeaway he had after we turned the ball over. That's just hustle.

Something tells me the guy who thinks MSU has high school talent won't be logging on to comment on this one. Go Cats!

Sac State upsets Weber. UM and UNC are in overtime in Missoula.

Maybe NAU has high school talent too?
In all seriousness this was a really nice, balanced win! This is the type of effort you want to see after getting dog-walked the game before!

I'm trying to talk myself into the idea that they just needed more time to get going due to the new coach and high roster turnover. But even if all their stinkers and nail-bitters in 2023 are closer to their true abilities and this game was an outlier, they're still clearly a college level team. That was just a silly take.
I remember that 2003 Bozeman High team that had 3 D1 players and never lost. It'd be a stretch to say that's a typical high school team. PJ might have given these Bobcats a little trouble, but they would have lost to this team by 40 because the 4th-12th men on the Cats are so much better

Excellent bounce back win for the guys after the rough two games in the Summit League challenge. We are 2-1 in Big Sky play, and the Griz are 1-2.

Logie is a heck of a coach to get us a 29 point conference win with this group. I was expecting us to usually get blown out on the road and eek out a few close wins at home. But so far we've got a road conference win and a 29 point home win. Now NAU is seriously undermanned right now. Their really good center Carson Towt, who had 16 points against Belo and Osobor in the Big Sky title game last year, is out with an injury. And their backup center Jack Wistrcill, who's not bad is also out. So NAU has really no bigs. But then again, neither to do we really. Brandon Walker looks like an all league player the first 6 or 7 times up and down the court. Then he gets winded and struggles. If our staff can get him committed to an off-season training program, he could turn into a really special player, because he has incredible moves and touch inside. Robert Ford on the other hand, has a motor that just won't quit. He's just having and incredible season filling the stat sheet. Tonight he had 12 rebounds, a bunch of steal and assists, and 15 points. Glad he stayed around.

I didn’t realize Tom Wistrcill had a kid playing college hoops.

Yes, knowing he went into the portal but ultimately decided to stay, it's scary to think what this team would be like without him!
