Beautiful senior day ceremony. The mental discipline needed to play after that is impressive!

We're doing a better job of stopping easy laying. Even we don't let them get squared up to the basket, they're missing at the rim. Hope the offense can get into gear.

Amazed we are down only 4 at half. Nine turnovers, gave up 7 offensive boards, and some very poor shots (Bunyan’s scoops - ugh!). Just a little clean up and the Cats can win this.
...for today we raise, the BLUE and GOLD to wave victorious!... GO CATS GO!

We always want to see them win but this really wasn't a horrible result for MSU. They competed well and this keeps them away from NAU's side of the bracket as EWU has now clinched the 1 seed. With ISU and Idaho both losing today MSU is locked into the 4/5 game against UNC.

Re: WBB vs. EWWW...
This team is a few less turnovers and a couple more made threes/per game from being a contender. So many bad, silly, ridiculous turnovers. Even in the last minute with a chance to take the lead we try to throw a hero bounce pass and turn it over. Maddening. And then there's outside shooting. They've been bad all year. We must lead the nation in in-and-out missed threes. And it's never gotten better all season.

Two Comments: 1. From where I sat there were 3 or 4 three point shots that were so, so close but didn't drop. The difference in a close and hard fought game. 2. Great crowd support. I would think that this should always help us when it comes to recruiting. We are middle of the pack in the conference yet a great crowd comes out today.

What was that about? Scooping from 10 feet almost standing still? Is the scooping disease spreading? Please, just jump and extend the arms. And EWU? If that’s the #1 seed, then the Big Sky is looking for a 16 in the tournament. Not a strong year for Big Sky WBB.

The NCAA's NET rankings really like the Big Sky this year so EWU almost certainly won't be a 16 seed if they win the tournament. The top 4 teams in the NET are EWU (75), UM (96), NAU (123), and MSU (148). That said, with the women's tournament especially it often seems like the seeding at the bottom end of the bracket is based at least in part on geography and which teams are closest to the various "pod" sites around the country. The current ESPN Bracketology has EWU as a 14 seed and playing in Oregon State's pod, which makes a lot of sense. If Gonzaga gets a Top 4 seed that would be another likely option with no travel at all required.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 2:36 amWhat was that about? I'm still picking NAU to win it this year after falling short in the championship game the past two seasons. I'm guessing they'd get sent to either UCLA or USC if they win.

Re: WBB vs. EWWW...
Thanks, @MSU01. I guess EWU just hasn’t passed my eye test either game. They are certainly bothered by our height. And I do agree with you about NAU, but I won’t be rooting for them. Playing with two players that lost their starting roles last year isn’t a real strong position. I’ll be cheering for EWU to win, only if the BOBCATS do not. I think they’ve got a chance, for sure. They’ve only really struggled against NAU and that may be more mental than anything. We thought about driving up to Boise this year, but a 101st birthday in Iowa and a wedding in Montana are going to use up our travel energy.
