Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

I don’t know if the MHSA has limits on how many events an athlete can enter in a state meet but I do know if the meet was a 3 or 4 day affair, Chirrick would probably win the 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 100H, & 300H. She also would score good points in the 100, 200, long jump & triple jump, if not win. For good measure, she would probably score points in some weight events if she trained for any of them, she is that strong & athletic.

I sure hope she gets in Binford’s rotation early on. Otherwise, she could easily go all in for track, whether with the Cats or practically anywhere else in the country. She’s too talented to waste away down the bench on a basketball team.

You are only allowed 5 individual events. She placed 1st in 4 of 5!

It should also be noted that her performance led Roberts to win the team State Championship. She scored 46 of her teams 61 points. Another Chirrick, I am guessing her sister, scored 13 points.

Going into the meet, she was the best in the state in two events…at any level…AA through C. In another event she had the second best time in the state against any level of competition. Good athlete! Glad she is a Bobcat!

Her time in the 300H is ridiculous, but it gets overshadowed by Olivia Lewis from Corvallis (MSU commit) who broke the state record by over a second. Chirrick's best is 43.06. Liz Harper had the old state record at 42.86 and was an all-american at Wazzu. Chirrick could possibly be the third-best 300 meter hurdler ever from Montana, yet is only the second-best this year. She won state as a sophomore at Billings West.

For context, under 43.3 seconds is right on the border of maximized physical achievement in the event for a high school female. 43.06 is crazy. Many considered Liz Harper's state record one of the most unbreakable track and field records in Montana.

As Corvallis Track coach Spencer Huls just said on my show this evening, Olivia Lewis going 41.86 is Sydney McLaughlin-esque, Montana style. It's the 15th fastest time in the country this year and a record that will stand a long, long time.

The craziest part about Chirrick is she has never specialized in track, yet she can do pretty much every track event better than ANY Class C athlete before her. Impressive athlete.
