"In the first Big Sky Conference 2024-25 Preseason men's basketball poll I've seen, Major Madness on Twitter has ranked the Bobcats #1 for the upcoming season. I'm a little surprised, but I expected them to be near the top in the preseason polls. Montana and Weber had strong recruiting years, and NAU should be tough as well. It's great to see Montana State basketball receiving the respect they've lacked throughout the 2000s and 2010s.

As for Binford's group, I'll be surprised if they're not picked #1.

The key for both teams this year will be injuries—who can come back strong and who can stay healthy."

I feel like anyone in the top half of that ranking could potentially win the conference. Should be a pretty wide open year but based on recent history I like MSU's chance once Boise rolls around!

On the women's side it seems like MSU and NAU look like the best two teams on paper. Pretty crazy that NAU still hasn't been able to get over the hump and win a Big Sky tournament with all the great talent they've had under Loree Payne.
