MBB at Wisconsin

The Bobcat men finally play their opening game tonight against Wisconsin, airing on whatever B1G+ is. I checked the website to see how much a month's subscription would cost and it appears you can't even subscribe to it in Montana, so oh well. Should be fun to see how MSU looks, I'm guessing there will be some growing pains early on as they learn how to play with all the new faces and without Robert Ford running the show.

Wisconsin was picked tied for 12th in the Big Ten preseason poll out of 18 teams. They played their opener on Monday and pulled away to beat Holy Cross 85-61 after trailing by 1 at the half.

Not sure why you say that you can't subscribe to B1G+ in Montana? https://bigten.org/mbb/schedule/?seasonFilter=2024 click on the Cat game and go through the signup process. $12.99 per month or $89.99 for the year (note MSU plays USC on Dec 15 on B1G+ so would need two months at least to watch all).

Looking at the B1G+ schedule for tonight and it doesn't even show the game on the Wisconsin channel
https://www.bigtenplus.com/en-int/page/ ... 2024-11-07

I can see it in the Event Calendar, just not on their daily schedule

I'll admit to not being familiar with B1G+ but that schedule that you linked doesn't seem to show ANY live events on it and there are a number of them across different sports that are scheduled to be broadcast on B1G+ tonight so doesn't seem like that is the right place to look for what is being shown.

Yes, Big Ten Network is a part of that, however this game is on Big Ten+. Think of it like the Big Ten's personal version of ESPN+. Those games are not broadcast on the standard Big Ten network, but part of the separate Big Ten+ subscription streaming service.

Interesting, when I just went back there it says I can subscribe. I think I'll pass anyway, $13 for one game seems a bit steep for one game!

I was able to subscribe at bigtenplus.com and then found the app on my smart tv. Able to get some other early games, so I'm optimistic. Another interesting game on Big10+ will be Idaho State vs. USC at 8pm.. It ended up costing 15.25 or so after going thru paypal... but i do see there will be tons of games on here, thanks to the Big10 being the Big20..

Yeah a bit steep for one game but I figure I can catch a few Husky games and see Danny and Great with it too so worth it.

If someone doesn't know.. MSU has an excellent announcer for most games. Keaton Gilobli sp?, He's in Madison and he gives a live play by play call of the game. I often choose to sync his broadcast to the espn+ video. I'm listening to him now, he's in the middle of a interview with the coach and it's game time in less than 10 minutes go Cats!!

Here's the link for the audio... I dont use the app, i just select to listen to it online. fyi.

Walker looks to have list a lot of weight. His face is so thin I almost didn't recognize him.

After the first time out, the Cats look to be very scrappy, playing with a lot of hustle, and killing it on the offensive glass.

Did Goracke come off the bench? Started listening a little late

He did. It was weird to realize that. Says something about how deep our team is, or just tinkering with lineups?

I found it interesting to see Jabe Mullins 6'6 to be our starting point guard. Definitely a new team this year. First game so lots will change of course, but its just great to see a game!

Cats are definitely contesting everything and getting lots of steals and blocks. Wouldn't think you would say that when we are playing Wisconsin..

We seem deeper. Probably a bit of both

The refereeing has been brutally one sided. The usually reserved Logie got a tech because of it early in the second half.
