Hey @Colter_Nuanez do they not do presser for the basketball teams anymore? I just see quick interviews on TV and its not all the time. The EWU broadcast had interviews. The MSU one last week did not.

Main difference is (at least at Home Bobcat Games) is length of broadcast VS radio obligations. MSU coaches do post-game interviews 1st on Radio, ESPN+ has a set ending time for games (they are working on extending that) but for now there isn't time for post game interviews before the time runs out.

I believe lutecat was asking about weekly press conferences like Coach Vigen holds every Monday during the football season, but I don't think these are done anymore for sports other than football. It's mainly the post-game radio interviews and then Cat Chat on Tuesday evenings.

It would be fun to see some post-game interviews on the ESPN+ broadcasts if it's possible, I was pleasantly surprised when they showed a player interview with Jed Miller after the win over Weber State on Saturday.

I thought there was a weekly interview show on TV for Basketball... I believe Grace interviews Binford, and Keaton interviews Logie. I will have to look more and let you know.

Sac covered what I was getting at. Though I seem to rememeber we used to have press conferences after each game where the local press would post to YouTube or Twitter. And Coach Bin would bring a player or two to speak as well. Like we do after each football game.

There used to be press conferences at Bridger Brewing and then Cat Chat would follow during the lunch hour. It was great. We got to get a bunch of hoops content and then eat pizza! That doesn't happen anymore since they moved Cat Chat to evenings. There are media availability from time to time, but mostly by request now and it's rarely ever a group interview thing.

At Montana, they've never done press conferences really. They tried to get the basketball coaches to come after football during crossover season and that lasted about 2 weeks, then they just never came again.

Long story short, basketball content is harder to come by these days for a variety of reasons.

What a weird way of talking about the rivalry by TD. "It's more for the fans". He goes on to say the players that haven't experienced it yet will, but you listen to his players and it doesn't sound like just another game for them like he plays it off.

He phrased it a little awkwardly but I see what he was getting at there, that there's so much roster turnover from year to year these days that neither team will have a lot of guys who have been playing these rivalry games for three or four or five years. I think Decuire is right that Cat/Griz is a bigger deal for fans than for many players, especially in basketball where there are very few Montana natives on the rosters who have grown up with it.

The classic griz reporter question "(losing away team llayer) can you tell us how the game atmosphere that I had nothing to do with creating, caused you to lose this game." Let's talk about how awful the audio is for TD. Ask him about why the gris A/V dept didn't do a better job getting that ready? Lol
