WBB vs Portland State

Post by MSU01 » Thu Feb 27, 2025 1:12 pm

Big game tonight in the Brick, as the Bobcats can clinch the #1 tournament seed and a share of the Big Sky regular season championship with a win over Portland State. MSU won 85-39 in Portland finishing the game on a 24-0 run, and PSU only has one conference win so far this season. ESPN's Matchup Predictor gives PSU a 1.0% chance to win this game, which seems rather generous. Hopefully there's a good crowd on hand tonight for what will hopefully be a celebration...I'll be watching on ESPN+ but planning to head to Bozeman on Saturday for Senior Day!

Will there be confetti if we clinch a tie for the big sky? Or will it be Saturday?

Last time they clinched a share of the title at home in 2020 they did do a net-cutting celebration after the game. I don't recall there being any confetti but who knows what they have planned this time!

There was confetti. I'm bummed I'm not there. But the right move not to drive over. I started the 3rd quarter with my chin on my chest, asleep.

And the MSU/ESPN+ stream cut away just after the confetti started and anything else — like the trophy presentation — began. Dissapointing.

Yes. I suspected that would happen, from comments BAC has made, but was hoping for otherwise.

Saturday if we beat Sac state will there be anything additionally since we'll clinch it outright?
