WBB Success and Fund Raising

Post by Catfanatic84 » Sat Mar 15, 2025 1:24 pm

Curious what the posters on this board think about the historic success of the women's basketball team and if that will result in more dollars coming into the program. I think that's the case with football and I'm hoping the same for the women's program. People love a winner and are more apt to open their wallets for a successful program with athletes of good character. Seems this Bobcat women's basketball team fits the bill.

It would be awesome to see some increased financial support for both basketball programs, although I think realistically football is always going to dominate the other sports. Women's basketball definitely deserves to sustain the increased fan support and attendance they've seen this year, hopefully this season brought in some new fans who will stick around even when the team doesn't win 30 games every season. I'm not sure how much NIL resources get devoted to women's basketball but hopefully those players can get something to help entice them to stick around. I have zero doubt that some much larger programs would be very happy to have a few of our players on their rosters for the next few years!

I encourage everyone to join the Fastbreak club that supports women's basketball. I reenlist in the QB Club, Fastbreak Club, and 6th Man Club (Men's BB) every year.
