Snarky Answer: Scoring a non-zero number of points in the first quarter would help, unlike the last time MSU was in the tournament.
Real Answer: Win the turnover battle against a team that's just as good at forcing them as MSU has been, and shoot 50% or very close to it from the outside with double-figure scoring from four or five players and not just Morales and Dykstra. They've done that a few times this year so I think they're 100% capable of pulling the upset or at least putting a major scare into OSU.

Ohio State beat Washington by 10 points. Montana beat Washington by 14 points. Therefore we are the better team

The athletic is calling for us to be the 2nd most likely upset in the first round. So now osu will see us coming...

Osu has struggled down the stretch. I’m not sure how deep WBB goes now. It used to be that there was almost no way a low seed was going to even come close to beating a top seed. It’s changing over time. Osu might’ve been the last 4 seed. Were it not for home court advantage I’d give MSU a decent shot to win, say 15%. Probably less than 5% though unless I’m misjudging the parity.

13 Seeds are 10-120 (according to NCAA Website) overall. With that said, 13 seeds have also made it to the Sweet 16 more times than the 12 seed and the 8 Seed.

The last 13 over 4 upset was in 2021 when Wright State beat Arkansas, although that entire tournament was played in the San Antonio area so it was a neutral court game. There have been a few other 13 over 4 upsets on neutral courts but you have to go all the way back to the 2000 tournament to find the last time a Top 4 seed lost at home in the first round, when #13 Rice won at #4 UC-Santa Barbara. MSU or any other team pulling an upset this year is fighting against decades of history to do so.

I just think it’s a little ahead of its time for there to be 68 teams in the women’s tournament. There isn’t enough parity yet. I’m not looking at the numbers but my guess is that since expanding both to 64, there have been a lot less upsets on the women’s side.
It took too long to get women’s sports going. I would love to see coed basketball. All the men and women and transgender players that were cut or just prefer to play coed. There are plenty of good players out there.

I thought it was lame the teams that were sitting in the recliners in the fancy practice facilities with no fans. Boring!!

I wonder if Taylor remembers her last trip to the Dance. It was a memorable play.

The team is on the way to Ohio, their flight took off at 10:30 and is scheduled to arrive in Columbus at 3:30 this afternoon, local time. Go Cats!

Were there boosters to fill the other seats on the charter?
