Good question. We're excited to have so many home meets, including conference. We should do well in these smaller meets, two scored, and two open allowing unattached athletes in. The multi meet Jan 11-12 with UM will be very interesting. They have an outstanding freshman female, but we have some very good prospects as well. For the men, Asa Staven will likely add to his school record in the heptathlon. He is much improved, especially in his shot, vault and hurdles. He already has 6' 9" and 23' 8" jumps. He looks like NCAA qualifier material.

Our men are going to be very good indoors this year. We aren't redshirting any of our top athletes. Our men were 2nd at BSC in Cross Country - we're strong there. Actually, we're good in every event. Chris Wilson is going to compete in the sprints, which will be exciting. He may or may not compete this Sunday. Depending on how the other teams develop, we have a shot at a title on the men's side. NAU will be favored. Their Cross Country team took 4th at NCAA's with the 2nd and 5th place finishers - and they were missing a guy who was as good as their fifth placer. The rest of their team isn't bad either - very strong in the throws.

Our women are strong in the throws with four all-conf performers, but that's only two events indoors. We only have one all-conf performer for the rest of the team, so it's a rebuilding year. But that can be exciting because we have some promising new people who could surprise. I think conference will be a close race for the women.

It's pretty upbeat overall. We're optimistic. We're very proud of our student/athletes. We have a great group of officials and are equally confident about our home events. Our meets are conducted professionaly. Our administration is behind us 100%. We'd like to see more fans of course. If we ever come close to filling the house it would be such a thrill for us.
