Cats struggles
Is it me or does the team look listless at times. I know a new system is being tried but are the players buying into it

Re: Cats struggles
The out of conference schedule that they put together was ridiculously tough. I’m sure the thought was, “if we can play with and beat a top 25 team, then we will elevate this program.”. But the result was they limped into conference play and haven’t really found an identity.. They play hard and, what’s frustrating for me as a fan, at times look really good - but the end results of matches hasn’t been many wins so far this year.

Re: Cats struggles
Definitely an up and down year, but the road sweep they had over Weber and Idaho State shows that the team is very much capable of beating anyone in the league. They won against the worst team in the Big Sky (Idaho) last night which puts them in a tie for 5th and a half game ahead of Portland State. After the road game tomorrow against EWU they have their last three games all at home, so hopefully they can get some momentum built up going into the Big Sky Tournament.

They’ve definitely taken a step back.

Any team that loses Kira Thomsen takes a step back. I still think they’ll be fine.

They are having what I'll describe as a "throw back" season. This was what it was like to be a Cat fan for decades and decades. Hanging our hats on beating the fuzz balls and maybe playing spoiler to the teams making the championship runs.

Re: Cats struggles
Win last 3 can't they be top 4 going into tourney? Didn't win Big Sky last year, just had a great run to get to championship and then the post season tourney

Re: Cats struggles
The Cats are currently 6-7 in sixth place and there are four teams at 9-3 or better, so I don't think it's realistic for MSU to get up to 4th. They could certainly move up to 5th. Seeding shouldn't matter too much since it's a neutral site tournament, although it could help to avoid the host team (Sac State) for as long as possible.

Does Coach "Beard" have a Minnesota pedigree? I see that 4 of today's 6 signees are from Minnesota, the other two are from California.

He was at University of Minnesota for 8 years before coming to MSU and had stops in South Dakota and Wisconsin as well.
