If you get a chance watch is highlight tape. I don't know if it's on pete's site, but he has one play where he runs a guy down that is just amazing. He comes into the picture and brings the guy down like he was shot out of a cannon. He also showed some pretty good cover skills.

At the risk of sounding negative and suffering the slings and arrows, I submit that Wilson is fast. He has no technique as a Corner. He is a project and I have every confidence our Coaching staff can teach him the technical and mental aspects of playing Cornerback in the Big Sky.

I watched him play in High School. Great speed. No technique, no instincts and it showed. I however wish him the best at Bozeman.

I submit we give the kid a chance before we run him down. [-X He's a great kid and very humble to be given the chance to play for MSU. I'm 100% confident he'll work very hard and become a great player. He is lightning fast and a pretty strong kid. I think with a couple of years of coaching he'll be just fine. I look forward to watching him develop as a player. Recruiting is a game of spotting potential and Wilson has lots of it! One things for sure....you can't coach speed.

I agree, lets see what Chris is able to bring to the table. The coaches see something in him. Even if it is a few years down the road, lets just be patient.

I will admit I questioned his coverage ability after watching him play but I will be the first to admit that the coaches know a hell of a lot more than I about this game. He has speed and the coaches believe he has enough talent to be coachable to the point to play at this level so I look forward to him performing well for the Cats.

So is he slowing down or what? 2 seconds from one meet to another in the 200 is a pretty big gap.

Conditioning. He isn't even close to being in the same shape he is during the spring.

The Simplot games are indoor. Indoor times are always slower because of the increased curve plus you add the time of year. All of our HS athletes were much better (faster) at the end of the track season because they were in Basketball up until track season and it is hard to run in the winter in MT. Your QB Kemp is from just down the road from me (same city) and he could train 365 days per year outdoors.

Wilson's 200 time is actually pretty damn impressive. Unless they've changed surfaces in the dome since I ran at Simplot (which, I'll admit, was quite a few years ago), anything under under 24 is excellent. My pr outdoors was 21.78...but I only broke 24 twice on that brutal ice rink in Pokey. The kid can burn, no doubt.
