Montana State’s Kelly Gillum has been selected the Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week after taking medalist honors at the Northern Arizona Red Rocks Invitational.

The senior from Fort Collins, Colo., fired a first-round 75 on Saturday and closed with a one-over-par 73 on Sunday to finish with a 153 for her first ever collegiate tournament title. Gillum won the tournament by three shots of Ashley Bauer and Lydia Benitez of Michigan and Northern Arizona’s Megan Buck, who was competing as an individual. Gillum, who sat out last season as a redshirt, is a two-time All-Big Sky second-team honoree. This is her second career Player of the Week honor. Gillum helped Montana State to an eighth-place finish in the 18-team tournament held at the Oak Creek Country Club in Sedona, Ariz. Montana State shot rounds of 326-319 for a 646. Montana State was second among the six Big Sky teams in the field. Michigan won the tournament with a 609. Northern Arizona was fourth with a 629.
