Congratulations to Coach Schaub and the lady volleyball team for beating the griz in Missoula 3-2 tonight. First win in something like 44 games. No better way to turn a program around.

Awesome win!!!!! We've been to several matches this year and The Cats were close to winning all of them, hopefully this will add the little bit of confidence they need to win more consistently.

Congrats to Coach Schaub. She is doing an amazing job, and the players have done an amazing job keeping their spirits up and improving each and every week. They are so much further along than their opening exhibition game.
To play the top teams in the conference to 5 straight sets (except NAU) a couple of nights in row, it was just a matter of time before they broke through. And did it against the Griz...even better

That's really great! I know they've been getting closer. It looks like this coach is finally turning that once proud program around.

Way to go Lady Cats volleyball and Coach Schaub! I met her at one of the Bobcat Club meetings here in Helena and had a good talk with her. She clearly was excited to turn this program around, and I think we got a good one in her!!

No better team to beat (great game by Edinger from Billings Senior), but this team is still just 3-15 on the season and have won less than 30% of the total games they've played against the opposition so it seems a little premature to say that they have truly turned the corner folks! Hopefully, this will springboard into the remainder of the conference season after Seattle tonight, but looking at the rest of their schedule it looks like the most winnable matches are unfortunately all on the road--Weber State, Idaho State, and N. Arizona, and the toughest matches are at home--Portland State, EWU, and Sacramento State.

They'll be fine, they've had a lot of 5 set matches that have went down to the wire in the 5th set. A little confidence now will help win those close ones.

Confidence can do wonders, but not too sure about "a lot of matches going down to the wire". They're 2-4 in 5 set matches and the ones they've lost have been 15-6, 15-10, 15-10, and 15-11. I really hope that they can play great down the stretch, but Schaub needs to be on notice that they've got to show more improvement than they have and she doesn't have until next year to show it. The fact that they've been swept 7 times this season already can't be ignored. Again, good to beat the Griz, but UM volleyball is actually pretty mediocre this year (overall losing record), so I don't think the ship has been righted quite yet.

Agreed. I've been at every home game and don't see any improvement. I was suprised to see all the talk of the program really turning around just because we beat the Griz. It's ONE win. I wouldn't get too excited yet.
