god what a dummy. #-o i've known jim for quite a while. think he was year younger than me in high school. i haven't spent any time with him in the recent years so i want to be careful not to pile it on. but i will say that this doesn't surprise me in the slightest as he always seems to be around kids way younger than him! first i thought it was because he was a youth counselor and then a coach but i noticed him around town with some girls that looked like it could be his little sister or something! crazy stuff. hopefully it all works out for the best and he can take care of his issues.

Exactly what I was thinking. I don't know this guy personally, but if it was my under-age daughter he was messin' with, there would be no need for a trial. Well, there probably would be a trial, but it would have to be for me.

I don't intend to either crucify or defend the Bozeman coach in making this comment, but it has always seemed odd to me how differently our society reacts when it's a male teacher/coach with a female student, versus the many recent, highly publicized instances in which it's been a female teacher with a male student. I just saw an interview with Mary Kay Latourneau and her former student/current husband on the Biography channel. It just struck me how differently that story would have been treated by the media, as well as the reaction of the public, if the roles had been reversed.

Great point. Youth are vulnerable to predators regardless of their gender. Talk about a disaster in Bozeman, hometown boy who went to MSU, and now coaches both football and track at the high school. I guess folks can't blame out-of-staters like they did with incident where the Legion baseball coach several years ago who was dealing cocaine and was killed by some other dealers in town who were ex-basketball and football players. Not sad for this idiot, but sad for everyone else involved.

How about when these girls are actually more than willing take part in this "sexting" craze? I know that in many of these cases the girls are not as innocent as they might seem to be. Not pointing fingers or redirecting. Just sayin...

Regardless of potential "willingness", as you call it, of juveniles, a 29-year adult should NEVER be sexting them under any circumstances. The question you ask ("How about when these girls are actually more than willing [to] take part in this "sexting" craze?") is absolutely irrelevant to the case as hand. He's an adult. They're not. Is that simple enough for ya...!

Couldn't agree more. As a 29 yr. old coach if he receives a "sext" from a student he has every right to not respond and show it to the administration. But then again, that would be the right thing to do.

I agree. I wasn't condoning his actions at all. Just simply thinking aloud that girls know a lot more about what they're doing than what most people like to believe. Thought it might be an interesting point of debate. But I'm done. Later.

I think this is a message that everyone should take a look at. It is worth listening to the entire message. I know it is long, but trust me you won't regret it. Thank you Pastor Brian Hopkins for addressing this subject =D^
