Sufficient pledges have been made to finally build good seating for the track. This means 1000 seats with a press box and auto timing station. Since the existing storage building/rest room metal building will be removed for the new end zone, a new storage building will go alongside the new seats, and will have more area. This will be finished in time for MSU's 2012 outdoor season, which will include the Outdoor BSC Championships.
Another pledge has been made to pay for installation of a new mondo track surface in the Fieldhouse. It's not sure when or how this will be accomplished yet. The existing 30 year old tartan surface contains mercury, so removal can be very costly. Another problem is how to manage all of the events and rapid changing of sets with this surface. Options vary from putting the new surface in sheets on top of the old, cutting out and replace the old track surface only, and more.
