A bad cold, and then soreness after BSC. Doing fine now I am told.

MSU article on Casey going to Texas. Kennedy and Casey both sound confident. I've seen very little state media coverage, but maybe I missing it.

Everyone in the mile field has run under 3:59. It will be interesting to say the least. I've never understood the lack of interest in our track athletes. But then I know and love this ancient sport. Montana can take pride in our team. If he wins I'm sure there will be some coverage around the state. Soon we'll be outside, and on the road a lot. I know our jav throwers are ready.

Just watched the race... Casey led his heat the whole way until the last turn and faded... looks like he missed making the finals... looked great until the final stretch... seem to run out of steam... very proud of his efforts this year.

I imagine he's thoroughly disappointed. To go in as favorite to win with the best time in the nation and a 3rd place finish last year, and then not even get into the final. He actually ran faster this year.

From MSU:
“There was no lack of effort in Pat's race today,” said head coach Dale Kennedy. “Unfortunately he didn't have the snap in the end that he needed. He won't let this keep him down, though, as there will still be opportunities for him down the road.”
