Track Question
How many scholarships does MSU have for track and field? Is it divided between men and women or one number split between the two as the coaches see fit? I see most of the members of the T&F squad are from MT. Do you do much recruiting out of state? How hard is it to attract out of state athletes? Who usually wins the recruiting war for in state talent between the Cats and griz.

Re: Track Question
12.6 for men, the max for DI. 18.0 for women, also the max allowable. So we are fully funded for scholarships. Each coach on our staff has a budget for scholarships. I have 2.5 for men, 4.0 women for throws. We do recruit out of state. I think we do well in state against UM. Engineering helps. Certain majors help them. Where we hang our hat is development. A soph. walk-on engineering student won the BSC men's shot for us this season, for example. I often hear, where'd you find him or her?

Re: Track Question
My husband was an out of state recruit for Montana State. He was fortunate enough to have a Bobcat track alumni coach him in high school, that's how he was introduced to Montana State.
