Cats beat Griz ...again

Coach Weindell in his first year of coaching has our Lady Bobcats volleyball team in the playoffs for the Big Sky conference title.

It has been 5 years since we last appeared.

I'll say this - they got it done when necessary. Both Colter & Kyle are up there; I'm sure Colter will post his stuff & I'll post Kyle's when it's online. Sarah Horton had 21 kills, Macy Page had 15 and Taylar Barney played very well at key points. So did Horton, who ended match on a kill, then an ace in extra points (above 25) in the final frame. First conference tournament berth since 2005 for MSU, who sorta backed in but got in the best way possible for the fans, and program.

Not that I follow VB very much, but I am excited for this team. The new coach has really turned things around. Should help with recruiting better players. To top it off getting revenge and knocking the griz out has to be pretty sweet. Congrats ladies.

Although Montana will now prepare for next season rather than a tournament run, Branstiter says she will continue to root against the Bobcats.

“ They’ll just go to the tournament and lose,” she said. “That is what I’m hoping for.

“I’m a Griz at heart, so I’m rooting for everybody but the Cats.”

Perhaps Montana State will give the senior an early graduation present against the Lumberjacks next weekend.
