Are any of the assistants any good? That's what will ultimately push this team over the top

Great question. Coach Weese's background is Distance/Middle Distance. He grew the X-Country program before taking over full T & F responsibilities. He's got the men's and women's distance groups running great...i.e. 2019 Women's individual X-Country champion, Camila Noe.
Jumps coach, Tom Eitel, has been at MSU for over 20 years. His specialty is pole vault and multi's (Hept/Pent/Decathalon). He's produced NCAA individual champions, and recruits/develops quality talent.
Throws coach, Jenn Allen, was a Bobcat thrower and learned under longtime throws coach (and sometime Bobcat Nation poster) Mike Carrigan. She has a solid stable of athletes who always have one or two vying for Big Sky Championships.
The one area MSU has historically struggled is sprints/hurdles. We've had exceptional individual athletes who have excelled, but never been able to draw & develop multiple top tier sprinters who could vie for conference titles. I think that is going to change!
Jay Turner, sprints/hurdles coach, hired last year is doing great. He signed the #1 female sprinter out of Georgia last spring and the #1 male hurdler out of Germany this fall (5th at European under 20 and 16th ranked in the world at 400 hurdles). Coach Turner also went to the Jamaican high school national championships last March chasing talent. If he can bring in top talent from around the US & abroad....MSU is poised to de-throne NAU as the #1 track program in the Big Sky.

Noah Martin going over 7 feet in High Jump is a great sign. The past couple years he's been trying Decatholon, so he put on some weight for the throwing events. He jumped close to 7 ft in high school, but never got back there as a Bobcat.
Now he's back focusing on High Jump. He has thinned down a little. He could very well make the NCAA National Indoor meet. 7' 1.5" has him at #18 in the country right now.

Thanks for posting this video, it's quite a marvel to watch a human jump that high.
Man that announcer had horrible timing as Noah was about on his last step before jumping when the announcer boomed in.

And our third, Siporen, just made his FIRST attempt at 15' 5 3 /4".... Both Neth and Nicholson went out at 14' 10" I believe.
