Cats sweep Gris in the quarters

After getting swept in Missoula by the Gris, it felt good to return the favor in the Big Sky Tournament. The Gris made a lot of mistakes and the Cats capitalized on them nicely. Kita Thompsen was a machine, as usual. Onto the semis!

Too bad we don’t get another point for the Brawl series.

Eastern upsets the host UNC in 5 sets in the last quarterfinal. Great chance for MSU to advance to the final!

Wasn't looking good there when MSU lost the big lead in the 4th set to give EWU two set points, but they made the plays when they needed them (and finally won a challenge). Go Cats!!

First time in the chipper since 1983? Did I hear that right?

Was following on twitter. They had a 5 point lead in the 4th set and then everything went dark. No updates for a long time. Finally went to the gametracker and saw they won 28-26! I can't watch this volleyball team live-I'm like Billy Bean in Moneyball-click on see what's going on-click to something else. Don't ask me why. Whenever I watch it goes bad. Proud of all our girls tonight-WBB and VB! representing well!

Yep. Back then the volleyball conference wasn't even called the Big Sky yet.

Might have been good you went dark, MSU gave up the lead with multiple challenges going against them. EWU had set points at 25-24 and 26-25, but MSU saved both and won three straight points to end it. Very exciting but damn that is a stressful sport to watch when it's close like that.

Okay-I know very little about volleyball. I see we beat Weber in Ogden this season. If I recall it was a reverse sweep (WSU went up 2-0, MSU then won the next three). Weber knocked of Sac State who is usually the perineal Big Sky power? So...what are our chances? Looks like a toss-up to me.

I'd say the chances are pretty good but a toss-up is probably the right way to view it. MSU has actually won its last three matches against Weber and all of those were in Ogden, but lost to Weber at home in their first of three meetings last year.
