Quarter Back Club

Post by liqud360 » Mon Dec 11, 2006 1:20 am

I just recieved all my info in the mail, but I'm having a hard time justifing giving above and beyond the 1,000 or even paying our yearly dues. if I never get to participate in any activities do I really want to do it? Kalispell is a long ways from Boz for any QBC specials or get togethers. Also, Kramer never comes to Kalispell for QBC or anything else for that matter.

On the other hand, this would give money to our program, help with stadium improvements, recruiting, Kramers salary, and many other needs all lined out in the packet.

Any thoughts on helping me make a decision are helpful. I was told that the Athletic Dept was looking into having Kramer come up every once in a while...but he dosent have time to QBC up here.

To me, the hat that says "QBC" on the back would be worth every penny of the grand spent....

Just kidding.

In all seriousness, it is a good way to support the Cats, even if you don't get your money's worth. If you can afford it, then do it. I would, but for a college student, that is a lot 'o cash to fork over.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Thats just it, I'm getting a little presure from Tiff since our second child is due on Jan 16th. So, yea, its a lot to fork over, and I guess thats some of my aprehension. If I'm going to spend that much, I better darn well be sure Tiffanie is ok with it as well

I have also been asked a number of times. My booster dollars would have to come first and that has tough the last couple of years. Without the booster dollars you can lose your seats this year if you don't make the appropriate donation. The QBC dollars are in addition to the booster membership so for me that would put me at close to $2500 per year not counting my tickets ($500 with club access). $3000 per year plus six+ trips to Bozeman every year is getting high. The great thing about the QBC is that the QBC dollars go directly to the football team and making it more competitive. The booster dollars are for the entire athletic organization. The desire to make the team more competitive really pulls at my emotions. Bottom line is "is it affordable" once my booster fees and tickets are paid for?

I like to contribute for the team and school. I don't need to be babysat. I am not interested in perks. I love the cats.

As a booster I enjoy zero perks. I pay extra for the club access so that is not a perk. The only benefit you get as a booster is that you get to keep YOUR seats. Don't contribute this year and they go to someone else. The QBC comes with the one big perk that you get to meet with Kramer if you live in one of the locations he has QBC meetings. Since I live in MN I don't get that one either. The Booster donation simply helps student atheletes with their education expense. The QBC donation helps the coaching staff do a better job.

Not picking on you. I, like you, want the Cats to do well. Kramer is quite the person to listen to. I enjoy the parking pass/seats. Anything else they can keep. I wonder if they would save the perk money how much sooner we would get a bigger/newer stadium. If you build it, they will come you know. I know that will never happen. Too many folks want fluff. Just dreaming...

Oh, so, your trying to pick a fight with me? I was looking for positive feed back, not someone telling me that I need a babysitter? Thanks. Unfortunatly our players are the ones that need babysitting. Fuller helped me make up my mind...

Not picking a fight, just stating my case. If they are looking for more money maybe cut the fluff. It looks like you don't use the fluff anyway...What is your beef? I really want an improvement to the stadium. Most fund raising groups squander money. I am unimpressed with a lot of them. Too many fancy dinners etc. I say take our money and improve the stadium. I think you are as much as a Cat Fan as I am. We want the best for our team, and school.

Cool, took it personally, sorry. Ok, I guess my beef is that I think Kalispell should not be overlooked. There are many Cat grads up here, I think it would just be nice not to be pushed aside. I guess I get tired of griz this and griz that up here. When I first moved to Kalispell from Oregon, MSU had a football camp up here in the summer time. I took part in it and still remember it to this day. A big part of the reason in my final choice for MSU. Those times are gone, kids up here love the griz,(mostly because of parents) and could care less about MSU. I miss feeling conected with the university, I would like the fluff, I would like knowing that MSU has more of a presence up here in Kalispell. Billings is close to Bozeman, perhaps just have QBC in Boz, Helena, and Kalispell. You have great points (Fluff and all) and I agree with everything you say (even the give because you want to not what you get back in return). I would just like to see some effort, any at all, up here in the Flathead. Oh, and improvements to the stadium too. No, Improvements to the stadium first! I could just write a check and put on it---FOR STADIUM IMPROVEMENT ONLY...NOT FOR FLUFF!!!

Have you contacted Peter fields about this? He usually responds, if not by phone at least by email. He is pretty good about that. I think you should voice your concerns. They are very valid and if nothing else you will have an answer (like it or not).

Thanks gtapp, I will email Mr. Fields, but not until spring. Ha, I have a feeling that right now my contact (will not give her name, but boosters know her) at the Athletic dept would put this on the back burner. For obvious reasons.

Liqud, I agree MSU should have a bigger presence in the Flathead and this will happen with time. Some great Bobcat athletes have come out of the Flathead valley. I am originally from the Flathead but have made my home in Billings for the past 35 years. During my stay in the Flathead area, MSU had a strong presence however we were not as influential as UM. Probably never will be, do the short distance to UM vs the long distance to MSU.

However I feel that the University should give the Flathead more attention.
Such as visits from Kramer, Peter Fields etc.
