Cynical silver lining for NBC ... the ratings for the luge events will now be at least double. If this is dangerous enough to kill a guy, people will want to see it.

I enjoy biathlon, speed skating, hockey and the down hill. Depending on the outfits I can even watch womens figure skating. The only problem is after the Olympics the skating rinks around here draw way more crowds.

Or, as Robin Williams called it, "Norwegian drive-by".

I've always tended to watch more during the winter than the summer Olympics. In 2002 while they were in Salt Lake, I got the flu at one point and sat at home for 3 days straight watching CNBC (at that point, all it was showing was hockey and curling... It was awesome).

But really, basically anything that's on when I'm at home I'll watch, with the exception of ice dancing.

I'm looking forward mainly to hockey, downhill skiing, and speed skating (both long and short track). I also really got into curling during the 2006 Olympics - once I watched a few matches and got a better idea of what they are trying to do, it became very fun to watch. I've never been able to get into figure skating or any of the freestyle skiing/snowboarding stuff.

The french guy that won the cross county ski race was born in Missoula. So Americans got first and second technically.
