St. Patrick's Day SW Montana Tour

Post by WolfPtCat » Mon Mar 15, 2010 5:05 pm

If anyone is interested I am organizing a bus tour of SW Montana this year for St. Patrick's Day. It recently got bumped from a 13 passenger "sprinter" to a 40 person charter. So, we know have plenty of room for everyone. The more the merrier. The bus will be filled with great people and great music. The bus ride promises to be just as much fun as the stops!

Here is the iteneray:

Schedule-

7:30 am Helena- Bus loads at Downtown Holiday Inn parking lot. We will be handing out t-shirts and stocking our motor coach with the essential liquids of the day (Guiness and Jameson for the men, Coors Light and water for the ladies)
8:00 am Flag raising ceremony at State Capitol-Helena, step-dancers & last chance recruiting. Your fearless leaders, Kristopher Corrigan Jameson (Koessl) & Jeffrey Daniel O'Connell McHugh(Rodenberg) will be the newest members of the group (AOH) raising the Tri-Color (Irish national flag), as we will be initiated into the group the night before.
9:30 am Bus departs Helena for Butte, first round of sing-a-longs, beer & whiskey
11:00 am Butte Parade, Second Largest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the world, behind only Chicago (may or may not be true). We will have to strategically place ourselves near one of the few storefronts that will be selling beer. Such as the greeting card store, hardware store, grocery store, butcher shop, law office, insurance agency, Ford dealership....... We will stick around Butte for a few hours, see if we can find some live music, and enjoy a couple pints!
2:00 pm Bus Departs Butte for Anaconda. Resident Montana Tavern Historian, and Montana State Proffessor Emeritus, Barry Michael Patrick Murphy, will give a moving account of the rich history of the fine establishments that we will visit in Anaconda
2:30 pm Bus Arrives in Anaconda, pub crawl
4:15 pm Bus Leaves Anaconda for Helena
6:00 pm Ancient Order of Hibernians St. Patrick's Day Banquet, St. Helena Cathederal, Helena, MT. Pipers, Dancers, Corned Beef, Singing, Merriment! This is a great event.
8:30 pm and on Downtown Helena

I know this looks like a daunting schedule, and a few of you may be scared. But, just remember, if you don't put in a 12-18 hour shift on St. Patrick's Day....did you really celebrate properly?

Costs: Bus - whatever you think is right. This was a last minute change, so any thing to help offset will be greatly appreciated
AOH Banquet: $10
T-shirts: We will have limited number available for the late entrants, but should be $15

There were rooms available at the Downtown Holiday Inn in Helena (Rodenberg Block) $89. They have been released, but they will honor the price. 406-443-2200

I will be leaving soon so will be away from the internet, so if you have any questions, or if you want in....give me a call. It is going to be an absolute blast!!! Anyone/everyone is truly invited....even grizzlies.

Give me a call with any questions,
Jeff Rodenberg,
