Post by mslacat » Sun Aug 14, 2005 5:49 pm

Hey folks, anyone willing to offer up any Ebay advise. I have some schtuff hanging around my basement that I am tired of tripping over and thought I might give Ebay a try. I am not looking to get top dollar kind of money but it would be nice to get somethng for it. Anyone out there with ebay experiance?

I've only been a buyer on eBay, never actually sold anything. I know from the buyer point of view that the more description, the better for the stuff. Also, keep in mind that eBay does take a certain fee out of whatever it is that you are selling. That is why sometimes you will find that shipping prices are higher then they should be, because eBay can't touch those for some reason so that is where sellers make much of their cash. If it is really good items, use the "buy it now" option because a lot of people will use that so they won't miss out on the items. That's about all I got, if you put anything that you think we would be interested in, let us know!!!

Be honest in your descripiton and give details.

Check on ebay to see if others have sold your item before. This will give you an idea of the value. Use the reserve price feature if you are not will to let the item go.

Take several pictures of your item. This will sell your item.

Use the shipping charge feature so the purchaser knows how much shipping will be. I add a $3.00 handle fee.

Set up a paypal account to accept payments. Never take a check.

The listing should cost around $2-$4 dollars.
Good Luck
