Child Genius/Stalker Shooting in Livingston

Post by WolfPtCat » Wed Jan 19, 2011 12:02 pm

I just read these articles for the first time today. Sounds like this girl, Promethea Pythaitha, graduated from MSU with her first bachelors at 14. She's know 19, been studying many other fields at MSU since. This old guy in FL read about her, tried to help with tuition, and became obsessed with her. He thought her mother was holding her back. Sounds like he came to Livingston last week, and shot the mother yesterday and was killed by deputies. Mother is in hospital, girl was un-harmed.

Pretty controversial family, multiple lawsuits with neighbors. Girl gave a scathing speach at a Greek Orthodox convention that resulted in many scholarship offers being withdrawn. No doubt, an incredibly gifted girl though.

Glad the mother's okay. I remember reading past articles on this family and thinking they were a little strange, but apparently they attracted the attention of somebody who was out-and-out crazy.

I'm happy to read that the mother is okay and that the daughter is fine ... and that they crazy guy is dead. I hope they can move on and put this incredibly disturbing chapter of their lives behind them.

Me too, but more often than not, I seem to be violating the 10-second rule on the crazy side.

Retiring my moniker. It's time to ride off into the sunset. It's been a fun ride. Go Cats.

The oddest part to all of this, for me, is that the guy was 81 years old.
