celebs for relief

is it just me or does it seem rude for lack of better discription for wealthy celebs to ask for the regular joes to give so much of their own money these days. it sounds large when they say P Diddy and others have raised 1 million for the red cross, when they are worth how much? if millionaires are going to ask us avg. joes to give dollars, they should give millions. just my view.

side note- yes I gave to the red cross, but I give anyway. feel horrible for those people affected.

I suppose a few of the celebs are doing so for the attention, but I think the majority believe that their encouragement actually gets people to give that wouldn't have normally and they're probably right. I'm guessing that they do give money also. This is a case where their egos actually do some good in that they probably feel that since they say to do it, other people (the avg. joe) will do it. Kind of weird maybe, but then look at Sally Struthers. She's done some great things for starving children around the globe.
