Valley basketball

I'll start off by saying-if the Hawks played any of the teams I'm about to mention they would win by at least 50 (just being preemptive since the last time I posted in this type of thread it turned into the Hawks are great-everybody else sucks kind of theme).

Anyway...I just got back from the Three Forks vs Belgrade game at the Belgrade Special Events Center. Belgrade "upset" the formerly undefeated Wolves 57-53. It was quite the surprise as Belgrade had only won once before this season and had looked absolutely terrible in recent losses to Manhattan and Manhattan Christian. Three Forks had a bit of an off night shooting and Belgrade kept their focus a little longer than normal and played great defense.

Despite the loss tonight, Three Forks really has a nice looking team. The Kimm kid looks like a real talented player (must be his Dutch heritage  )

Manhattan Christian is also a very good B school. They have size as usual, but they're also pretty athletic-which isn't always the case.

I haven't seen Manhattan yet, but they did beat Belgrade. I'm guessing their smaller court really screwed Belgrade up as the Panthers are used to playing on the college size court. If you've played high school ball on different sized courts you know what I'm talking about.

Belgrade has size, speed and athletism. But I really believe most of their kids spent their off season concentrating on football. They're slowly starting to play better but it's been pretty painful to watch most of the season.

Thursday night-Manhattan Christian plays defending State C Champs and currently undefeated Gardiner in Churchill. Christian for some reason, can't seem to beat the Bruins (neither has anyone else). This should be a great game in a cracker box gym. If Christian's new gym was done I'd take this one in.

I was at the Manhattan Christian-Gardiner game(I go to Manhattan Christian), that was a fun game. You really missed out on not going to it, but I can understand since there wasn't any room in the gym. Gardiner's got a bunch of good shooters and they're all tough as nails. You should try to go to the rematch of Manhattan Christian and Three Forks as that will be a heck of a good game to go to. They're usually always close games(except for the last time when we got killed) and the atmosphere is great.

I'm an MCHS alum-from what seems like about 1000 years ago. I'm intimately familiar with that little gym.

I'm very proud of the win over Gardiner-the Bruins just don't lose. I'd love to take in that Three Forks game, but i'd probably have to get there for the freshman game just to get a seat. On Tuesday Three Forks had more people at the Special Events Center than Belgrade-the Wolves fans travel really well.

It's a pretty good year for the western valley teams-Manhattan, Three Forks, and MCHS all look really tough. And lowly Belgrade is heating up a bit-they won at Browning last night.
