Yes. That's exactly what I meant.
Actually, I think it was written by Brazilians...right before they ate some Brazilian BBQ. ;)

I work as an attorney so that I can afford good scotch, which helps me to forget that I work as an attorney.

Did I miss the memo that it's pick on Heather day??? :? Now pass the Fried Manjoca and some Skol.

BAC, I'm glad you liked it. I had a nice retort typed out, but then realized simplicity is always more effective.

The cuts are sad, but in a way I guess most rural voters get what they voted for huh?
Re/Max,
What exactly is your point? As a conservative living in a rural state, I appluad Bush for making these cuts. It is exactly why I voted for him. Liberals want and think government has to take care of too many things. The government is so bloated it's nice to see Bush finally making some cuts in spending, however with the way Washington works, these are probably just cuts in the projected growth rate, not real actual cuts.
Ok, so you see the government as too bloated and we spend too much money? Ok got it, here's a suggestion, don't go to war without a plan or exit strategy. Want to solve the budget? Don't punch those less fortunate in the stomach, instead don't go to war.

I'll be the defecit wouldn't be as big if we didn't invade Iraq. Of course we don't even declare military spending in the budget, what another $50 Billion in losses, no prob, Uncle China's got a big fat bank loan for us.

We did go to war with a plan. Things and situations change. The enemy is never predictable. Read any history of war and you will find that all the best made plans were thrown out as soon as the fighting started and decisions had to be made on the fly. This war is no different. Tell me all the wars we went into with an exit strategy. There were none. The people who make these charges against Bush's war plans ignorant to how wars are fought and won. They are nasty, dirty, unpredictable, etc. They are not video games.

The war is being fought to protect our security and way of life. Do you want to live like Isreal with terrorist acts almost every day?

How, exactly is this statement true? We invaded a secular country that was one of the least involved of any countries in the region with any terrorist groups (as they don't like secular countries). The most anybody can even allege is that somebody from Iraq might have met with somebody from AQ at some point, but they can't even allege that there was any cooperation between the Iraqis and AQ. So even the most tenuous allegations show much less cooperation with AQ than our own CIA has had ... which has actually been quite a lot.

Afghanistan was about terrorism. Iraq was not. It was about WMD allegations that turned out to be false. After that fizzled, it became about human rights and freedom for Iraqis (a liberation mission). It has never been about terrorism ... except in vague allusions by Bush to 911 every time he talks about Iraq, but even he has explicitly stated Iraq had nothing to do with AQ or 911.

Ahhhhhhhhhh. Stop the partisan $hit slinging!!!! WHO TOOK US INTO VIETNAM? WAS THAT A WELL PLANNED OUT WAR?

Come on. Both parties, all politicians, have made bad moves. Let's quit attacking and start talking about what can be done to actually fix all the problems we've amassed in the last 200+ years.

I would love to see one freakin candidate step up and talk about what they wanted to do. Not ONE WORD about what the "other guy" is/was/will be doing. Even if I didn't like their policies I might be tempted to vote for them just for a little change.

You can now returned to your regularly scheduled Bush bashing now.

Don't worry, I'm going to take a much needed nap now. But I refuse to retract my obviously tired and sick of life post from above.

And I can hear all the "ahhhh, the life of a stay at home mother" snicker back there. But believe me, if I can get 2, 3, and 4 year old boys to actually nap at the same time, I deserve a nap.
