Yes.
Just kidding; I like those movies too. I wasn't crazy about the books, though...too verbose.
Anyway, keeping to the thread:
"Son, we live in a world surrounded by walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it, you? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? We use words like "Honor," "Code," and "Loyalty." We use those words as the backbone of a life spent protecting something. You use them as a punch-line. I have neither the time, nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and falls under the very blanket of the freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would prefer if you just said 'thank you," and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and man the post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you are entitled to!!!"
(Jack Nicholson)
LOTR-- verbose? And you have a Voltaire signature...

Nice.
I don't know what it is about Tolkien; I just have a hard time getting into those books. The stories are great in a big-picture sort of way, but when he spends three or four pages on an elven sonnet, and then twenty more pages describing what a particular character's home looks like, I just start to glaze over.

I work as an attorney so that I can afford good scotch, which helps me to forget that I work as an attorney.
