Thank You for Smoking

I saw this movie over the weekend, and I highly recommend it. It was the most purely enjoyable and smart movie I have seen in awhile.

Aaron Eckhardt plays a character similar to the great one he played in "In the Company of Men," but he's a touch more likable in this one (although he's a bad guy that you cheer for -- and he is personally conflicted, so his character is a bit more complex). The movie skewers virtually everyone in the smoking (and "sin tax" industry) debate, including the political process in general.

It is also the last film you will see Katie Holmes in before her brain was completely replaced by a Scientologist "handler" and her uterus was invaded by someone artificially inseminating her with Mr. Cruise's DNA. What a waste of a perfectly good hottie.
