Actually, level is not all that great. You need some slope to a playing field to avoid having it turn into a pond.RickRund wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 12:07 pmGreat news. I am very confident the ncaa can do a great job creating a level playing fieldilovethecats wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 9:18 amThis is a step in the right direction in my opinion. I think all anyone should want is complete fairness in the competitiveness in sports. Who knows. If people keep transitioning from one sex to another maybe we'll get to a point where they have a class of their own where they can still compete, but on a level playing field.
If nothing else it's been fascinating to follow and I expect there to be more examples in the future to base our opinions off of.![]()

Re: Lia Thomas
16 members of the Penn women's team have stated he shouldn't be allowed to compete in the championships. They have no problem with his transition, choice of gender.

Re: Lia Thomas
And this is the letter that made the news 2 days prior:
"We want to express our full support for Lia in her transition," the athletes said. "We value her as a person, teammate, and friend. The sentiments put forward by an anonymous member of our team are not representative of the feelings, values, and opinions of the entire Penn team, composed of 39 women with diverse backgrounds."
That statement was not signed, but a Penn spokesperson said it represented "several" members of the team.
Apparently the "anonymous member" includes 16 team members out of 39 that were WILLING to put their name on a letter saying that Thomas competing against biological females is unfair. The letter of support for Thomas competing was anonymous but represented "several" members of the team.
Maybe logic will creep its way back into competitive sports.
