As I have such a difficult time posting anything on this site, I thought I'd put it here

Pete Dodds who played for Auburn three years does not qualify because he didn't graduate from Bozo Holy Rosary (that school all things green and white couldn't stand

). My guess would be either Roger Kraft's kid or Tom Miller for West Point. I know he came after Jim Smiley played for WAZZU and Glenn Smiley played for Duke. Mike Winchester played for Dartmouth, but an Ivy League school is kind of a reach unless it's Princeton. My guess is Kraft being the most recent significant contributor to his team.

I did not post this here becuase I did a similar question a couple months back.

As I posted I think Les Kraft, some 27 years ago, was the last player to sign with a Non Montana D-1 school and actually play for that team all four years. The point being after 27 years we have 3 athletes that could finally follow in Crafts footsteps. Jack McGillis, currently on Oregon State's roster, Brock Osweiler who commited to Gonzaga (for the year 2009) and also Derek Selvig is in the hopper as a third possiblity.

Did Chad Suket (sp?) play all 4 years at Boise or ISU--can't remember which?

John Siefert played for University of St. Louis. There is a Montana kid that played D-1 outside MT

The idea was someone who signed D-1 out of state and played all four years out of state. it is real common for a Montana kid to sign with a Montana D-1 (MSU or UM) and play all four (or five with a redshirt) year at the same school. This I don't think has happened for a Montana signing with a Non-Montana D-1 school since 1979 and Les Craft. I find that very telling about the last 27 years and for some of the current athlets mentioned above.

Siefert BTW lasted only one year and transfered back to play for UM.

There are other kids who have gone the JC route then to D-1 who are close but not quite what I was looking for.

Technically, though, no Ivy could satisfy mslacat's question in any event. He specifically referred to people attending non-Montana D-I schools on scholarship, and the Ivies don't give athletic scholarships (actually they don't really give academic schollies either; they give "aid" that in theory is never merit-based).

As for the actual question, I don't think I have enough gray hairs yet to know what the answer is, so I'm not even going to guess.

Actually L-town is right. The older Sukut kid signed with and played for Idaho State all 4 years in the late 90s. That should be the correct answer. It was kind of a waste though. He was at or near the end of the bench and didn't play much. Kind of ran in the family though, so to speak. His dad played a total of 58 sec. over a 4-year period at CGF during the 70's. That's what he said!
