Coincidence? I think not.

Burns brought home almost $1M in pork yesterday - $400,000 for a new ice rink in Bozeman and $500,000 for the Cobb Field renovation in Billings. The Senate race is heatin' up!

Burns introduced a flag burning bill last month, it failed but it was brought up

Burns also vocally supported anti-gay marrage amendment a couple months back, it failed but it was brought up.

There have been a host of other of these ticky tack do nothing for the big picture (unless you are a gay couple trying to get health insurance) but make consevitives feel good, bills flying about recently. My question is if these bills are soooooooo darn impostant why wait the last moment throw something together quicky and fling it against a wall to see if it sticks. Why not put together an agenda and work to make it law.

The reason: Most of these canidates / congressmen like Burns really don't care about these hot button issues and only want get political milage by exploiting these issues.

You elected a ****** RAPIST to be our President

Although I'd like to see 500k go to Cobb Feild renovations, I would say no in a heart beat. There is no need to waste money on renovations when the whole place needs to be rebuilt. And will 400k buy a new rink?

I have a feeling that this is money to add to the pot for each project, and not a 100% financing of each project.

Yes, both of the amounts constitute "seed money" and other money from private and public sources will be needed to fully fund the projects.

Cobb Field got another donor a few weeks back but the amount of money was not released. Although I'm sure the amount is significant. Any money towards this will really help get the cost down to the taxpayers and get it passed on the ballot in November.
