Populate images
Can someone explain to me how you post things like tweets or images so they populate the post instead of just giving the link? I know there was a FAQ type of thing here but I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

Tweets you can just copy/paste the URL link of the tweet.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 7:40 pmCan someone explain to me how you post things like tweets or images so they populate the post instead of just giving the link? Images have to be uploaded online somewhere first (photobucket used to be one such place) then you post the link to the image. Maybe there's an easier way that someone else can help you with.

I get that but when I do it, it just shows the link and you have to click it to go to the link. I want it to show the actual tweet without clicking the link. I get the Image part.91catAlum wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 7:45 pmTweets you can just copy/paste the URL link of the tweet.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 7:40 pmCan someone explain to me how you post things like tweets or images so they populate the post instead of just giving the link? Oh i gotcha, mine usually just work. Not sure, try putting the link in <url> ... </url> tags and see if it makes a difference.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 7:50 pmI get that but when I do it, it just shows the link and you have to click it to go to the link. Otherwise someone with better knowledge will have to help you.

Re: Populate images
In understood the concept, but the best way I practically learned this was to hit reply to a post that has a tweet or an image and look at the codes that were being used in those posts. It helped me understand the <url> and <img> type things.

Re: Populate images
For tweets you should not have to do anything other than put in the link to the tweet. There is a plugin on the board that looks for different types of videos, social media, etc. urls and automatically replaces them with the code needed to show them appropriately. For instance just putting in a youtube URL will show the video here. Of note is that with the change from "twitter" to "x" this was broken for awhile a couple months ago if the link you got was of the "x.com" variety, but that should be fixed now too.
