Why is this true of any man or woman in a possition of power in the United States, whether it be in sports, buisness or politics.

Tough Man = Role model
Tough Woman = B!tch

Although I don't know why, it does seem to be true in government and politics, but not in sports--do you consider Michelle Wie, Anika Sorenstam, Danica Patrick, Mia Hamm, etc all bitches?---I don't.

I honestly think it's not a natural role for women, we carry more emotion and tend to hold grudges more than most men.

At Cargill I my plant superintendant was a woman, the process superintendant was a man. He was a hard ass, yet well liked. She was nicer, yet hard, and not at all liked.

But if they were the least bit outspoken, they probably would be by many people. The women you noted all look very good and never say anything other than safe cliches.

If they talked any amount of smack or criticized anyone else in any way, their reputations would probalby swing to bitch quickly, unfortunately.

Because the men run/rule the world. The women just live in OUR world!

Please don't tell my wife I said any of this.

I think it all just goes back to our hard-wired notions of male/female roles. And I'm not saying those notions are right or wrong, mind you, but I do think they're engrained.

Conversely, consider the following: why is it that a woman who is caring, emotional and nurturing is "nice" or "sweet," but a man who is the same is a "wuss" (or whatever other "wimpy" term you want to use).

You will love this one.

My husband and some of his friends always give me ****** about being tough (I'm not afraid to get dirty, I can fix all sorts of stuff and I like to fish but I have long hair and nails). They are alway saying that I have "penis" envy. Just because I stand up for myself and won't take any ****** from anyone. I can be the nicest person on the planet but mess withme, my family or friends and god help you. I just can't stand people that are rude and are disrespectful.... I guess I'm one of the Bi*****.
