BAC, get back!! At least to Lewistown (it's growing, there's a subdivision with 500 units going in).

But the subdivision going in outside of Lewistown is targeting senior citizens (literally ... I think it might even be exclusively for people over a certain age)!
I guess for the time being, I will just continue living on the edge. Felt a sharp earthquake the other day ... it was actually pretty cool ... as long as they don't get any bigger than that.

Actually only part is for seniors---or so I hear. You can buy 5 acres for a mere $200,000.00-which is ridiculous for Lewistown.Bay Area Cat wrote:But the subdivision going in outside of Lewistown is targeting senior citizens (literally ... Went out with a realtor from a central Montana town; they told me the jerks from Billings, Bozo, the Bitterroot, and Flathead areas are pressuring them to get their prices "in line" with what these areas are doing--all during a time when real estate is tanking big-time! The Montana Fad is disappearing pretty fast; anyone travelled Highway 93 from the Canuck Border to Hamilton lately? Folks aren't coming here for congested highways. One would think what they ask and what they will accept are two entirely different amounts.LTown Cat wrote:Actually only part is for seniors---or so I hear. I hope so, but central MT doesn't have the congested highways, etc. That is what worry's me. This will probably be one of the next areas to boom. Because this area is what most out of state people consider MT to be.

They are about $80,000 right now and go up 10%/year.Bay Area Cat wrote:I'm actually assuming that Lewistown will be among the next "boom" areas ... might be a good place to start buying for people who invest in real estate. Except for those $200,000 lots, that is. The lots on the golf course are/were a whole lot cheaper and with much better views.

I think Lewistown is an obvious area for all of us coming back to the state as is the entire Front--I'm leaning more and more toward the Sun River and/or Geraldine areas--or Centerville--or Belt--anyway, somewhere in the middle of the state back in the short grass country.LTown Cat wrote:They are about $80,000 right now and go up 10%/year.Bay Area Cat wrote:I'm actually assuming that Lewistown will be among the next "boom" areas ... might be a good place to start buying for people who invest in real estate. I used to live in Daly City. Was in a 5.4 earthquake, scary but cool.Bay Area Cat wrote: Felt a sharp earthquake the other day ... it was actually pretty cool ... as long as they don't get any bigger than that.
Moved back to MT a week before the big one in '89.
